    They love to leave the filters loose for some reason, I had the same spots and found mine loose, that was the last time the dealer got to touch it.

    Check out torque in the Google play store if you have an android phone or tablet. If it does what you need then the only other thing you would need is a cheap bluetooth obd2 adapter. I used to have a scanner I paid big money for, now this does everything it did and more for under thirty dollars.

    It will show you a failed head gasket sometimes.they fail in different ways a shop can do a full leak down test on that cylinder and give you a lot of good info a regular compression check wont.

    Pull that valve cover and take a look. Springs could be good but still could be a bent pushrod bent valve or collapsed lifter.     Yeh could put a plug in the coil removed but plugged in, and try to spark it against something metal and unpainted. Have someone start the truck, wear a glove (dry) or it will zap you pretty good. If that works and you have voltage at the injector safe bet it's the PCM.

    Set it for vdc should have power at the injector plug with they key on. I'm not positive it will on these trucks though, so verify whatever you find with another one. Use a chassis ground not the negative in the plug.

    I have a 14 si/so on my 13 rcsb and have no drone. It wasn't nearly loud enough I just took the resonator and tailpipe off and put a 45degree turndown in its place. Much better sounding now and no drone still though mds sounds so crappy I just leave it in 6 on the highway.
