Hi all, I just purchased a used 2019 1500 limited. The dealer only had one key and apparently the owner lost the second. If I buy a second key fob, is there any way to program it myself? Thanks!

I had to get one for my 4th gen. Bought the fob online for alot cheaper than the dealer but had to use the dealer to program it. I think some locksmiths can program it also but not 100% sure.

Yes, there is. You will need a program called AlfaOBD, an OBD Device (like OBDLink MX), and your 4 digit pin code. The pin code can be obtained by reaching out to the dealer.

if you just bought the truck, call your salesman if they will do for free, since they didnt have one.
Buy a fob on Ebay, inexpensive. Have dealer flash since they didnt have two, maybe?

I wonder if you bought from the same dealer and previous owner that owned ours, we got the exact same story. But I think the previous owner is holding out.
I got the same story, my dealer will reimburse me if I buy the fob, make sure you get the key blank, it's extra, doesn't come with the fob. My price on the whole deal is just under 150 plus programming.

I just bought my truck last friday. He only had one key and it isn't even the key for the truck. It has the lift change button on it and not the remote start button like i should have. Am I able to buy one USED off ebay and dealer can reprogram it or someone can. What about if the manual key is uncut blank key and I don't have a manual key for the truck. Can one be made or do i gave to get all the locks rekeyed?
Side note my buddy has OBDII program. Would we be able to use this on programming my key fob and or truck?
