    2016 4x4 Lower Ball joints

I wound up stopping at my local auto parts(not a national chain) and bought (2) Moog lower ball joints. Surprisingly, they are made in USA. I installed them over the weekend and all went really smooth. Press worked great pushing them out, then news ones in. Only hiccup was when I was pulling...

    8hp70 heater bypass

Installed the bypass this morning with no issues. Let it warm up for a few minutes, ran it around the block to make sure all seemed right and took it on the highway for about an hour. Slowly warmed up to 145 degrees F., and ran/shifted smooth as silk. Never got above 145 F. temp at 75 MPH...

    8hp70 heater bypass

Went on a long drive this week, and temp got back up to 215 degrees. Putting the bypass valve in tomorrow morning. Can't believe the thermostat is bad after less than a year. We'll see how it runs tomorrow.

    2016 4x4 Lower Ball joints

Appreciate all the feedback so far, and I think I', going to order (2) of the AC Delco Gold's and (2) of the Mevotech TTX. When I get them, I'll inspect all tolerances and make my decision on which one to use. I still have my Snap-On ball joint press from back in the day when I was an ASE...

    2016 4x4 Lower Ball joints

I've searched several threads to see if anyone has any long term feedback on which lower ball joints are holding up in their truck after replacement. Twenty different people, twenty different answers. Mopar only offers the entire lower at $450.00 each and i see mixed reviews on all including...

    8hp70 heater bypass

That was the worst part of the job. Tried and tried with pliers( 2 hours) but not enough room. I bought a tool(see attached) and that's how I got it. Going back together was easy because I used worm drive clamps. I also bought the c-clip tool for the transmission lines, but you really don't...

    8hp70 heater bypass

UPDATE: Finally got some time to take the truck out on Sunday towing our boat(Approximately 5,200 lbs.) and trans temp never got over 185. Ran about 60 miles and most time it was 179 -180 and no whining. Outside temp was 94F with 45% humidity. I have the bypass valve now, so if I have any...

    8hp70 heater bypass

I'll pull the grill again this week and give it a good cleaning. It looked clean, but I didn't really focus on it yesterday. I think I'll but a thermostat, and give it a try. I've been towing the same boat now for four summers, and never had any issues. Thanks for the input.

    8hp70 heater bypass

I have been following this thread for a couple of weeks and wanted to post what I have experienced. I have 2016 1500 Laramie that I bought new in 2017. Had issues with the original transmission doing the hard bump from 2-1 gear in 2019. After a year of back and forth with the dealer, they...
