Had some free time and wanted to try out my M101. Decided to clean up my center panel on my car and give the tail lights a once over as well. I think the results came out pretty good.

Yeah I'm using the harbor freight special at the moment. I'm trying to get my buddy to buy mine with pads so I can buy a PC and some smaller pads.

Good work! Glad to see a HF buffer work. Mine runs like a cordless drill with a dying battery, so now it's a glorified, low speed, wax applicator. Unfortunately I bought it like 6 months ago so I'm stick with it.

Great write up. Followed what you did today and got some great results. Still have some swirls even after doing the 105/205 so think I need to get it looked at by a real detailed and see if it's user error or the paint is *****'d.

You might change to a different(more aggressive)buffer pad.

Like what Pull Ya said, Might try something like a Microfiber cutting pad. You might try to apply more pressure and move a bit slower as well. I can't get all the swirls out either, So I'm going to concentrate on the contact angle a bit more. Takes some practice to get your technique down!

I'm glad you were able to get a good amount of them out though:buffer:

Does your 845 attract a lot of dust? Came out this morning and it looked like someone took a tree branch to the side of my truck. Detail spray and microfiber took it away though.

I have a Megs Premium wax that I'm using on the top of the 845, but my car does collect a lot of dust. But a lot of times I'll just take it on the highway and it'll blow right off without me touching it.

Think I might do a coat of carnuba wax over the 845. How log did you let yours haze? I applied it to one side then did the Conpound and polish on the other then came back and buffed it off.

That's exactly what I did, I just did the coat of wax after I completed both sides and was my last step. It's holding up pretty well. Take it through one of those DIY washes every other week and just spray it with water and dry it off and it's clean again.

How many towels did you ruin the first time? 8/15 towels were pitch black and grey by the time I was done.

Ruined towels? I haven't ruined any that weren't my own fault. I ruined a whole batch of towels because I didn't properly clean my dryer before I put them in *Facepalm*
