i recently got a 2015 big horn with the ra3 8.4 inch screen. i tried getting the dealer to through in nav but wouldn't do it... i had spent all day negotiating the price of the truck down. they were willing to go down to $550 for 600 regular price.... after looking online i found the navrepair site is only 499.....

Pretty sure you can purchase the code directly from Uconnect using a CC over the phone which costs the same amount; not entirely sure though. If you'd like, I can try and find the document which had the info.

Thanks for the reply, I thought uconnect was the same price as the dealer? I'd like to get it as cheap as possible if it's from a trusted source

Don't pay for the add on nav, it sucks. Just get an RA4 then sell your RA3.

What's makes the add on nav suck?
It just plain is not as good. The majority of people that paid for RA3 navigation hated it, sold the RA3 and bought an RA4 for less than what the navigation activation cost.

I couldn't see paying to act. nav on my '13 ram, when you can buy a gps a lot cheaper, or even use your phones nav.

The RA4 has HD Radio and 3d maps and it's simply a better unit also has real time traffic not sure if the RA3 does. You can pick them up relatively cheap around 400.00 and not pay to upgrade the RA3 unit. It is a plug and play takes around 10 minutes

Ive owned and had both. there are actually more hardware changes in the Ra4, more memory, bigger hard drive, higher cpu clock to account for having to run the maps so its more "seamless" then the Ra3 is.

thanks for the replies. I'm not really looking for much in the navigation, mainly just want something built into the dash. my 2008 laramie had built in navigation no 3d maps or live traffic and i really liked it... I'm sure the ra3 with upgraded nav will be better than the 2008. it would be nice if i could do voice entry on the nav but i haven't had it on any other vehicle or navigation unit. anyone tried getting the upgrade code from uconnect? i was reading on their site you can call and get the code... doesn't mention the price though... i have read where people call to renew the uconnect access and have talked them into a better price..? maybe they give a better price on the nav too?

I upgraded from an RA2 to an RA4 in my truck
I am not sure exactly what you are referring to about the Uconnect subscription for voice activated Nav. I don't have a subscription and my voice activation works perfect. I push the V/R button and say the address or point of interest or anything else I want it to do. It is a lot more accurate than my wife's new Camaro. I rarely have to repeat myself. I can use voice activated Nav while I am driving or parked it works both ways. The only voice feature I don't have because of of not having a Uconnect subscription is replying to a text with voice command. I have to select from list.
