I've been doing some major wire repair to an 84 w150. I've made my way back to the bulkhead connector. Now that I'm here I'm looking at the various wires going into it and they're not matching up with the wiring diagram from the haynes manual. I'm currently working on #23 in the connector diagram and there's nothing there at all as shown in the attached pictures. Instead that wire is running into #5... how should I proceed?

Am I taking crazy pills or just reading this wrong

i think your looking at things backwards. that wire that you think is number 5 is actually number 2
this is how you want to be looking at it

the one you posted is a pic of it looking at the connector from in the cab. both are important depending on which side you are looking at it from.

Crazy one last thing on wiring: does this connection use a connector of some kind or can I solder it together?
It's the only connection like thay I've encountered during rewiring with 4 different wires and 3 different gauges

from the factory i think that connection is crimped together and then soldered like many others but i never checked when i removed it from my truck. i upgraded to a power distribution center so i didn't need it any more

Do you have a picture/parts of your setup?

i got my power distribution center out of a 2000 caravan and made it work with my truck. it is not pretty but it works for what i want it to. i wouldn't mind eventually hooking more up to it but haven't wanted to hack up my harness to do so.

Oh dear god... I thought the stock diagram was bad. Could I continue to use your wisdom in identifying the two items circled? The R6D-10bk at the bottom looKS like it goes over to the next page but it doesnt... also I couldn't find the top connections?
