Well thats the thing, you really wont "feel" anything poking you, the seat just wears down and as you move or gt in and out, reposition yourself it moves the cushon just enough to start ripping it. It will eventually get through leather seats, which is why seat covers alone wont fix this issue, it just takes a bit longer for it to wear through. If you were to take the cover off enough to get you hand between the leather cover and cushon you would proably feel the cushon cut in the same place

My drivers side wore down to the frame on the right side of the seat. Thankfully I knew this was coming and since we bought new furniture for the living room, before we through out the old I cut out the foam and used it in my seat. It worked great and felt better than new.
