I've had that drip one both my trucks with 3 different transmissions and I've come to the conclusion that it's just something in the design of the engine. I've pulled the trans a few times and checked the inside of the bellhousing and the rear of the engine and it's always been clean.
Since I'm boosted I found it's more pronounced when I've been in boost a lot and pressurized the crankscase but it's been a lot less of an issue since I installed a crank evac pump. My working theory is that it's weepage past the rear main seal in my particular case.
