If I change the front on Red much more it'll be a coil over conversion.

I thought about it, but decided against it in the end once I came up with a plan that will allow me to use off the shelf components for all of the wear parts. That should allow for easily ordered replacement parts if anything wears out or breaks.

Red recently ran 12.8 and laid down on the top end, so I expect it has a lot more in her. I want the front suspension to work well at speed. :naughty:

If I didn't already have a purpose built drag car, I would probably be thinking totally different and wouldn't have bought a V6. I want something that is 100% reliable, easy to get parts for and is fairly comfortable to ride in.

I ran 12.25@110 when my car had a bone stock engine in it with no power adder with just weight reduction and suspension, so I understand how important suspension is to guys trying to go fast. At stock weight, on stock wheels and tires and on stock suspension, it went 13.8ish if I remember right.

2.4 60ft times to 1.6 60ft times makes one hell of a difference on the big end.

Red is a street truck that is somewhat performance focused. But she is reliable and comfortable to drive and gets reasonable mileage if I don't lean on her. I do get strange looks when I make a run to Lowes to pickup material....

Red, what mirrors are those? I never noticed but they look pretty low profile. I'm liking those billet rims..

Got any rims lying around for sale :naughty: lol

Rims around here are silly expensive and the selection is slim..

The mirrors are from stylin.
The rims are custom billets 20x10 and 20x7 with custom spacing.
Unfortunately they have a 2 month lead time and are stupid expensive.

Lowered mine another 2" in the rear to get the ride height where I want it for the complete suspension rebuild. I think taking the front down another 1/2" and it'll be the perfect stance for me. Now the hard part begins.

looking good man!

I hate wandering in here... makes me want to lower my truck lol

once you get bit by the lowering bug then your are stuck, my show truck started with a level then a 2/4 then to 3/5 then to 4/6 and I ended with the 5/12 that I have shown off on here a few times lol, and with so many components only 2" off the ground that's as low as I want to go without bags :happy107:

Wish I could stumble upon a set of used spindles.. I think my truck would look slick at a 4/6 stance.

There used to be a guy on the forums that had a 4x4 QC that was 4/6 an the 4x4 still worked, not sure how well but he said it worked. Not sure what he had to do to make it work

I saw one of his threads a while ago, and he had 20" rims too. Said his cv axles were at the max angle, so I assume he had some vibration while in 4wd. I would imagine using 17s and lower pro tires would keep cv axle angle less severe, not that it's really necessary here in Georgia... hence my thought that I might just level my truck with some 33s and keep an eye out for a nice qc 2wd here and trade up when I find the right one.

Then start the lowering process lol

Edit.. after posting that it just makes me want to lower my 4wd lol

What did you do to get another 2" out of the rear? I have a flip and notch with stock shackles in mine and I would like a bit more out of it.

It has 2" blocks in it for right now, but they're just temporary. I am going to put a stock shackle back in it and use the Belltech springs to get this height permanently. I've got a set of leaf spring perches, and the old ones will be cut off and these welded on to get the pinion angle correct.

Nothing too much lately. New water pump a few months ago. Got a little budget saved up for the truck, trying to decide what i want to do. Going to finish my lca bushing job along with new wheel bearings probably beginning of April. Then I'll put on whatever I buy with my extras fund.
