I am looking to start washing my truck at home.
5 years of brush drive through carwashes and a year of diy carwashes, needless to say I have a ton of swirl marks I am looking to get rid of.

I am wondering what do you use far as brush wise for washing the truck.
I am lifted on 35s so the hood, windshield and roof are hard to get to.
I have looked at a lot of RV brushes but most of them look flimsy and cheap. Was hoping someone here can point me in the right direction for a good washing brush.

I plan on using a towel for as much as I can and only use the brush on the hard to reach areas.

Since you insist on using a brush, check out Detailed image, Autogeek and Autopia. Each site sells high quality brushes. The softest material is microfiber then real wool for wash mitts.

go to home depot in the window cleaning isle.

The brushes are way cheaper than the ones in the car section of autopart store and the one I found was even softer and has a hose attachment.

I saw some at auto-zone that looked decent. I was quoted 800 dollars to have a shop do it for me...

Use the two bucket method. Buy a foam canon and a high quality wash mit. I use chemical guys for all my stuff

I only use micro fiber towels too; both wash and dry. I have a 6" lift with 35s and use one of these. Mine is similar to the orange one and gets me high enough that I can clean over half of the top on each side and I am 5'10". I also like and am getting a second one from Craftsman too so I don't have to stop and move the stand from side to side as I am often trying to stay ahead of the Las Vegas sun to prevent spotting.

The estimate of $800 may not be to far off depending on the amount of swirls you have and the condition of the paint. For a full correction of the paint and installing a quality coating that should last 3-5 years, that price is in the ball park. I think that you will find that "most" professional detailer prefer to use microfiber over brushes when you are washing your truck.

I have swirls all over and I don't think 800 is too far off.

Part of me wants to get it all fixed and part of me wants to vinyl wrap the whole truck.

I like to off-road the truck every now and then. So I do have a few scratches from the trails

Another option to consider is a step stool or small step ladder depending on your height so you don't have to use a brush.

Microfiber or wool mitts, nothing else. Any kind of typical automotive or window washing brush is going to give you terrible scratches again in no time. You'd be wasting your money to gave it fully polished and corrected and then continue to wash it with that style of brush.
A brush definitely is needed for a few areas but you want one with a microfiber head on it for sure. You really should only need that for the roof. Everything else is reachable by hand.
