Might sound stupid but..(drop hitch)

So just lifted my truck recently with a 6in lift. Now i need a new drop hitch. im assuming i would need about an 8in drop hitch or would a 6 be enough? just trying to remember exactly how the truck was stock i think it droped down 2in inchs roughly from stock. would like a nice adjustable but right now there a little out of my price range

I needed the 10" drop for my truck......, heck, I need the 6" drop when my truck was stock. The utility trailer I towed didn't sit up very high!

Measure the height of the trailer coupler sitting level, then measure the distance from the ground to the hitch.

Go with the 8" to make sure you always have enough.

I needed a 10" drop also. The only way to know for sure was for you to measure the ball height from the ground before the lift. Maybe it's too late for that but don't stress. Just back your truck up to your trailer and measure down to where the ball needs to be. It's about the same thing.

Add some squat to that measure also 2-3 inches. I prefer nose high to nose down if it's not right level.

I ended up with about an 8" drop for my travel trailer on a stock 2500 with 18" tires.

For my utility trailers I have a 10" drop, because they don't add nearly as much tongue weight and I wanted as much as I could get on those little trailers.

Might sound stupid but..(drop hitch)
