Mine are dipped...****tily though.

I'll say this: If the condition of your wheels is absolute ****, go ahead. Wheel paint or powder coat will show gashes and stuff through where as plastidip el full em in if you pay it thick enough. Mine were absolutely horrible and at the time idv rather spend money on the motor so i went with plastidip. Looks better than it did but still looks like ****. Wheels are finally on my list now

What would be the best best to shine these rims in in my profile pictureb707182d7bf9b18054036d17b7b16b41.jpg

Plastidip crap is for people that have no money, same as wheel spacers.

Ouch man. I have some money but plasti dipped my rims. They actually turned out very nice. I am getting new rims in the spring but wanted to get rid of the last little bit of chrome on my truck while I waited

Any work that you do yourself is a masterpiece. Why not have a few bucks and just use what you currently have

or some people are just too lazy. if you got a set of aluminum rims you can get usually get them looking pretty good for about the same cost if not less than plastidip. just takes lots of labor

I have dipped many wheels and they look great the trick is to prep lots and lots of small thin coats and it will last well i did my ram badges with dip i did 8 thin coats and it looks amazing and holds up very well to stones and the pressure washer has never defected it at all

Plastidip is great if you know how to do it. I've never had any issues using dip. Buts it's all about the prep and building up layers. Not just one or two thick coats. Also you need to use glossifier to keep it looking nice. Just straight black plastidip looks like crap.

Here's my mustang. 4 coats black, 4 coats bronze rustolium, 2 coats glossifier.

First off, they are WHEELS, not rimz....and second, like a few have said, if done right plastidip looks and lasts great. I prefer to paint wheels, but to each their own. My rattle can paint on my WHEELS has lasted 4 years and other than getting flattened out last winter by the crap they used on the snowy roads here (there were many lawsuits over it fragging peoples paint) it looked like new for years. And I just prepped well, and used Rustolium Lemon yellow.

Personally I think it's a cheap way of doing things.
