I believe the G05 is the same thing as Chrysler Hoat 5y/100k. I've read it in a couple places, you should research it. I was able to get old stock Hoat, but for the next time I was thinking of Go5. Here.

I believe Hoat to be top of the heap when it comes to coolant. I like the idea of global life. But imo there is a lot of evidence oats are the ones that tend to have more incidents of damage. It's always changing like everything else, it may be this new purple stuff will be the best ever, dunno.

A little off subject, how is this for a window sticker :) I guess that is what you get when your stickers are made in China non spelling ****'s, dumb trucks. Well I almost ordered one. OMG, it is even worse that is made in usa, lol.

The Zerez G-05 is the same thing as the Chrysler HOAT. I've been using it since ~2006.

I hope my next vehicle doesn't have the tick, then I could really care less about even running redline and being forced to use a synthetic filter to get the life out of it. Because RP filters will likely not exist and Redline will likely be somewhere between the fine formula it once was and cow dung. Would Redline even have made it if it was started in 2017 and not 1979? Would champion labs ever even made a RP filter if it was started in 2017? A couple of companies own the shelves, they will ensure robust boutique brands of filters and oils just can't compete. I can tell you I wouldn't take another chance on a Hemi without good oils and filters to combat this tick. They hay day of great products may go by the same way as stuff like American made refrigerators. Everything these days are junk, why should oil and filters be different?

A loud as hell " AMEN!!" To that !!

I dont know if fram is on the champion list but the ultra synthetic is a great filter.

Yeah, Fram is champion for sure. But with the biggest name in the game, I'm sure one of the other companies will produce fram. I'm wondering if some of these companies are already making moves. I mean that is a horrible bankruptcy, clearly something is wrong there. How can you run that much debt with so few employees. If they were producing my filters, I'd start looking for something new unless I had a long term contract. Bankruptcies that are this bad ruin many companies. 325 million dollars in debt wiped away, that is a lot of pain for people who trusted champion labs. They simply wont get that trust back. All those vendors that lost all that capital, champion needs another delivery on credit, NOPE, no thank you.

While Fram and Champion area owned by the same people, they were kept as separate business entities. Champion's bankruptcy and assests/liabilities are not tied to Fram.

Fram Ultra will have to be my choice if RP's die.

There is always the wix XP. Its not at the top of my list but its still better than the paper filters.

Isnt the XP filter media different than the other synthetic filters?

Posted this in another thread and will post it here also...........

Just got my Blackstone Labs report back on my last OCI using MAG 1 full synthetic 5W-30 in place of 0W-40. Just as I suspected, no increase wear or detriment to using it.

Offering this as a data point and an example. I am not advocating deviating from the OM recommendations.

for 25,000 on the truck and 5,000 on the oil it is not bad at all...but, IMO at that price point ( amazon says around $9.00) I would like a little more moly and calcium but thats just being picky. The boron and zinc look great as well as the viscosity. I dont like the slightly higher iron these HEM's produce but it is what it is. I would be very happy with under 10 for iron at 5,000 miles, again being picky.

thank you for sharing, I love learning form you guys. cant wait to start my own UOA's once i get closer to 20,000 miles. just hit 7,600 today LOL. that will put me right at 8,000 for a year.

Oil is made by Warren Distribution out of Nebraska. MAG 1 is their house brand. They are a independent oil blender mainly known for doing private label house brand oils for various other retailer's.

Amazon is about the only big retailer selling the MAG 1 brand. I picked up a couple cases years back for cheap.

I posted it for the data point on using a 5W-30 weight oil in a 6.4, not espousing the cost effectiveness of the brand or whether said brand tickles one pickle. Trust me, I paid no where near $9 a quart in the case quantities I bought years back on sale.

Well I made the switch over to the redline...4qts 5w-30 and 3.25 qts 5w-20....I preloaded the royal purple filter about half way as well before installing some of the 5w-20. Truck sounds real good upon start up....seems smoother already! I can't wait to see how things sound as time and miles go on! Very happy with the redline!

Yeah it worked out good this way...I bought a case 4 gallons 5w-30 $41 per jug and a case of 12qts 5w-20... $129 plus an extra qt for top offs. I will get 4 oil changes this way! Most economical
