I have a 14" Maggie, installing Arh longtubes in 2 weeks. Just curious if I should get a different muffler ordered. Headers with the 14" gonna sound OK or just obnoxious?

Carven Competitor Kit on a 2014 1500:

This is with the Mufflex Drone Suppression Pipe Installed - the drone got to be way too much for me, and after installing this, it was DEFINITELY cut back. Not eliminated but reduced substantially.

This is before the Drone Suppression Pipe (I will take another soon to show the difference):

Gibson

Anyone run a Gibson exhaust? I had a Gibson exhaust on my 04 that dumped out in front of the rear tire. Loved the sound. I'm wanting a new exhaust. I've read this entire thread. I've got young kids. Want some sound but no drone.

Just swapped out my magnaflow 22" muffler to a 14" magnaflow. The difference is nice! It is not quite as loud as I thought it would be but definitely noticeable. I have no resonators and at 65-70mph I have NO DRONE!! now when I creep up to 80-85 I start hearing the drone but is not horrible especially if you are listening to the radio. I reccommend a 14" magnaflow P/N# 12198 for anyone who wants a good sound but not overbearing and obnoxious. I still have cats and stock manifolds.

I will see about getting vids later.

I would like to know how bad the mufflex 18 or 24 muffler sounds when the mds kocks in? I installed a magnaflow muffler on my 07 ram and it sounded like crap. I ended up getting a tuner to disable the mds, then it sounded great. Thanks

I have a 14" magnaflow and I don't think it sounds bad when mds kicks in, so I would think it would be even less noticeable on the 18'or 22

Anyone running Mbrp have any drone issues? Down the road I want to swap to LT headers and get 2.5" pipes bent up. mbrp comes with 2.5" already and so does flowmaster cat back kit but I haven't read very good stuff about the flowmaster on our trucks. Would carven and factory tailpipes be adequate with headers as I was looking at carven progressive

Does removing the resonators really increase the loudness of the exhaust? I have a super 44 installed but would like it to be a little louder.

May not be what you're looking for but I also run a super 44 with resonators installed. I installed a set of 5" tips and it changed the tone up quite a bit....louder and deeper, noticable from sitting in the driver's seat. Very happy with this setup.

Not sure the resonators are really going to make much of a difference.
