I order some torsion keys to level the front end of my truck, and bought Bilstein 4600 shocks to replace all 4. Afterwards it dawned on me that the shocks may not fit once the truck is leveled. Does anyone know the length of the front shocks, or know if they'll fit and perform properly with a level?

I had 1.5 inch coil spring spacers on the rear of my 1500, my 4600s were stock length and I never had any problems.

After installing them, I found out that the 4600s are not long enough for a leveled front end. The rear is perfect, but the fronts are extended and don't allow for wheel travel.

I don't know how safe it is but when I have been looking for stuff to level mine I saw that they have shock extensions which thread onto to top of the shock that say they are good for up to a 4" lift.

Yeah, I had considered shock extenders but haven't made the decision yet.

Has anyone else used the shock extenders and are they safe?

I am wondering how they would work also.

I used them on a jeep and never had any problems with lots of offroading.

I have yet to find the size for our shocks. All the ones I find are too small. Our shocks have large studs.

Is tehre a difference between the 2 wd and 4 wd? I see these are listed for 2 wd but I know that some bushings and things are listed as 2 wd when it fact they are the same for both.

I have a set of shock extenders on the bottom of my front shocks. Have had them on now for close to a year and no problems don't know if you can find them separately on eBay or something
