Fishing line, pull off, goo gone, and some Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax. B-E-A-U-tiful. It wouldn't have took me long, but I got carried away and spray waxed the whole truck. :roflsquared:

Did the same thing on my '15 1500. Took both door 'ram 1500' billboards off, used some goo off, washed truck, Polish compound then waxed the areas. Wound up waxing the whole truck!

Not sure if I want to take the hemi badges and the tailgate big horn and 4x4 badges off.

Ok fishing line - all I have available is the braided line not mono. Do either types of fishing lines work?

Does fishing line work well without heating up the emblems? I have always heated them prior to removal.

Took the bill boards off the doors and stripped the B-pillars. Then found out the hard way that the giant black "RAM" on the tailgate has to stay. Damn it! Each letter has posts and the tailgate has holes.

Used an eraser wheel for the first time today. That is not for the faint of heart. Lol.

Twice some stubborn adhesive had me thinking I had f**ked up my clear coat. After a few deep breaths I hit it again with the eraser and it disappeared.

I finished up with Goo Gone Auto, wash, Meguiars Ultimate Compound and a spray detail. Glad it's done. I'll post pics in a separate thread.

Used fishing line, heat gun, goof off, and generic oven cleaner. All with a bunch of elbow grease. And a scuff pad on the tailgate badge and tailgate dealer sticker [which the clearcoat on my 12 year old truck quickly regretted]

Everything came off clean with a ****load of effort and about 2-3 hours work except the "RAM 1500" pieces. Which still have tiny outlines which could only be seen when the truck was freshly cleaned a couple months ago or whatever.

Kinda dreading detailing it in worry I'll see them again, but perhaps more generic oven cleaner and goof off will work. Or maybe the clay bar and high cut polish that I'm gonna use when I detail her will do the trick??

I really want to debadge my '18 Rebel....I was going to replace some of them with the batman symbol, but now reading of streaking and waxing issues i am having second thoughts. I must ask...none of the badging is bolted on?

IM sorry to tell you all there is no special tricks, chemicals or such. all you need is a plastic no mar stick( like for taking door panel and interior stuff apart). push down on the badge between the badge and body they come right off....how i know this, well that was part of my department on the assembly line when i did repairs. i know huys get all scared at what not when its your truck and dont want scratch or mar the paint but not once did that ever happen. when you've done it a hundred times its just second nature

I want to either plasti dip the chrome door trim or remove it, I'm assuming it's the same as debadging?

You bought a warranty with the "permaplating" nothing more. The stuff isn't worth a damn! NO LSP lasts 7 years. FACT!

I'd highly recommend you pop into adamsforums.com if you get a chance and read up. Also watching their how-to vids will show you the correct ways to work with your paint, rubber, plastic, and glass and interior.

Remember, you get what you pay for when it comes to detailing supplies. The best way to buy Adams is with their daily specials and using the forum code for 10% off. You have nothing to lose with the 110% guarantee.

40E3037C-5F72-4B7F-80D5-FB95D90978EF.jpeg First post. I got inspired by this forum and debadged my truck today. Black truck, hot sun, fishing line and Goo Gone. About an hour and fifteen minutes. Looks good.
Now a wash, wax and vacuumed interior and I’m done.
