In ambient temperatures above 0°F (-18°C) 15W-40 engine oil that meets Chrysler Materials Standard MS-10902 and the API CJ-4 engine oil category is required. *Change engine oil when prompted by the Engine Oil Indicator System or every 7,500 miles/12,000km or 6 months. Uses 12.1 Quarts/11.4 Liters/3 gallons. *Can use MOPAR DIESEL FRESH Oil Additive PN: 05139947AA to neutralize the smell during oil changes if preferred. The four-ounce Diesel Fresh bottle treats up to 12 quarts of diesel engine oil. For easy removal use this End Cap Filter Wrench: LISLE 54780 END CAP FILTER WRENCH-Dodge Cummins Diesel Truck Accessories – Geno’s Garage **Your vehicle is equipped with an engine oil change indicator system. This system will alert you when it is time to change your engine oil by displaying the words “Oil Change Due” on your Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC). The engine oil change indicator system is duty cycle based, which means the engine oil change interval may fluctuate depending on your per- sonal driving style. Driving styles such as frequent stop and go type driving or extended idle time can increase the frequency of the engine oil change. Unless reset, this message will continue to display each time you turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position. To turn off the message temporarily, press and release the Trip Odometer button on the instrument cluster. To reset the oil change indicator system: (after performing the scheduled maintenance) 1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine). 2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly three times within 10 seconds. 3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position. NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not reset. If necessary, repeat this procedure.

Turbo Drain Tube: The stock drain tube is only about 9-1/2" long and too short for aftermaket turbos unless you get lucky(extremely unlikely). The 3rd gen turbo drain tube is 11" long and fits way better. Cummins PN# 3970875 or get it here: Cummins Stock Length Flexible Turbo Drain Tube 5.9L 3970875 don't forget to get a new turbo drain gasket PN# 5264568

* Any brand product that meets or exceeds the factory OEM products “should” be ok to run however I would like to point out that Cummins developed Cummins Filtration in 1958 to meet the high performance requirements of Cummins diesel engines and manufactures Fleetguard filters. Cummins also endorses and recommends Valvoline Oil. This by no means discounts other brand products or quality but many will argue these Cummins endorsed/manufactured products are the best for a Cummins engine.

With that being said here are some products/feedback/prices and places to buy them from. Feel free to post your favorites or comments on products for the 6.7L

Wow!

I know this is an old post, but I've never before seen such a comprehensive collection of maintenance data all in one place! Thank you for posting. Trying to find this information in all the different locations is akin to pulling (my own) teeth.

That being said, as another poster requested, it sure would be good to see the same info for my 2013 3500.
