I'm looking to replace my stock reverse light bulbs with some brighter L.E.D bulbs. I'm wondering who has done this already and what bulbs did you buy.

I have full led tails, but if I were wanting to get led bulbs, I'd go thru retrosolutions.

Not sure what socket type bulb your tail lights take, but these are the one's I bought a while back, pretty sure they'll fit yours toohttp://retro-solutions.net/product-info.php?3156_3056_3157_3057_3457_4157_T20_5W_CREE_LED_Reverse_Wedge_Bulbs-pid704.html. Definitely improved light output behind the truck

Retrosolutions site has a link to sylvania's site that shows what your stock bulb number is, then you can match it up to retrosolutions led bulbs

Thanks everyone. So when you look at those bulbs its asking to choose a bulb type? Top 5w only and something else? What do I choose?

Personal preference i guess, i ended up going with the top 5w led only and very happy with them. To my understanding, the second option-radial led-emits light around the sides of the bulb as well? Not too sure on the difference, but either should work

I would go with the top 5W. The bulb points straight back - that will give you the best bang for your buck.

So Cree bulbs put out more light than the others? Would I need those for reverse lights with a clear case? I found superbright led that seem to be cheaper are they any good?

CREEs are bright mofos. Most LED bulbs are "bright" but don't throw the light far. the CREEs seem to do a good job with throwing light!

Reverse is up to you, they'll do a good job there too

Where does everyone mount their resistors when they use led's in their tails? Gonna get some just curious what everyone does with them. Also any help with which wire to hook them to so I don't have to waste time figuring it out? Does anyone have CREE's in theirs now? Might upgrade to those, dunno

I was under the impression they are just plug and play no need to have a resistor. correct me if I'm wrong.

For running turns and brakes I believe you need the resistors, but for reverse you do not.

I have LEDs in my tails, just cheapos off ebay, but I am looking at upgrading them all around.
