What is the best way to remove the factory badges on my 2012? I want to clean up the look and remove the 4 X 4 from the tailgate and the Ram 1500 from the doors.

I have always used fishing line to take them off and acetone to remove the glue and sticky junk. Never had a problem with it.

fishing line to remove. Have to do a sawing action. Then the easiest way to remove the residue is to use an eraser wheel.

What i used to do mine was a bottle of goo gone and i sprayed the logos all around, ram 1500 and 4x4 and than used high tense fishing wire to take off the badges from behind. Its only 3m tape holding them on. than i used some warm water and dish soap to wipe off all the goo gone and some of the 3m tape left behind. Now you may see ghost letters after you wash it forth first time but after the 3rd wash it will be gone

I just debadged my 02 and I have a few spots where there is an outline of the badge. It's not leftover 3m tape residue, it seems like it's in the clearcoat maybe? Is there anything I can do to buff this out?

I just got the truck a few days ago... I'm trying to clean it up real nice to take some pictures to post and introduce myself :)

After I debadged mine with fishing line and cleaned it goo gone, I used a little rubbing compound to get rid of the outline and then waxed it really good. Couldn't even tell there was anything there. Of course my truck is silver so it doesn't show fading as bad as a darker color would.

I used the fishing line method, and then rolled up an edge and just pulled it back at a 45 and the adhesive came right off in one piece. I finished it up with a little goo gone, rubbing compond, and wax. It looks awesome!

Using a heat gun (or blow dryer) gets the badges off faster with the help of some fishing line and then goo gone and like they said use wax or claybar to get rid of the ghost effect left.

Worked great

I can't believe how easy that was. Fishing line, a little rub with my finger, a little Goo Gone, and their gone. Thanks for the help.

Spot on!

Wax, not claybar, has always worked for me.

I'm still yet to pull any badges off of mine [though the rear 4X4 looks more-n-more out of place everyday so I'm close to removing it] but this is the EXACT method I've used on several previous rides with superior results.

The heat gun is a time-killer.

Hey anyone with a 2011 or 2012 want to sell their tailgate badge? I noticed for the first time today that I actually like the bigger ram on the newer trucks, I have I 2010 so I'd like to rebadge mine and stick on a bigger one
