This thread is soley to explain proper and helpful ways to debadge. If you want to add a video, make it a video you, or another RF member made, no outside stuff. If you know some great tips/tricks, make a vid and post it up here, or explain your processes to help out members thinking of debadging!

Did my 2013 Ram 4 days after I bought it. Pulled the b pillar vinyl too.

Used a heat gun, fishing line then just pulled the adhesive rubber away from itself to remove.

Followed with 3m spray adhesive remover and a clean microfiber. (3m can $5 Walmart).

Finished with Adams polishes.

Fishing line, eraser wheel, rubbing compound and finally fukken wax...worked great and didn't take too long...

Hair Dryer, Fishing line and 3M adhesive remover is how I've done it in the past. I bought an eraser wheel to use on the RAM since they've made it a billboard from the factory.

I heat the area with a hair dryer to soften up the tape, then with the fishing line I just saw it back and forth, NEVER puling out on it. I did that once years ago, and the edge of the letter rocked over and put a divot in the paint. :(

Once finished I hit the area with Adams Swirl & Haze Remover on an orange pad on the Flex, then to the Fine Machine Polish on a white pad, finished with a LSP like Adams Quick Sealant or Machine Super Sealant. It's quite literally better than new!

Update: I used the pull method and will never do it any other way!

I did however use the eraser wheel for where my wheel weights were on my G8 and MAN did it remove the goo. BEST tool ever for it IMO.

3M Adhesive Remover
Small plastic wall spackle blade
Eraser wheel
wax

I give the trim or badge a squirt of adhesive remover, let it set for at least 5 minutes, then come back with the spackle blade to separate the trim from the body.

A little more adhesive remover or eraser wheel, then a good wax.

That's all it's ever taken except once when I was doing it in the cold, outside, and I used a small heat gun to promote breaking down the adhesive.

I know what the vehicle is and don't need to be reminded, and IMO it muddy's up the look of the vehicle. I've done it to the last few I've owned.

Another plus is you don't have to polish or wax around them.

I hate the way badges trash up the look of the vehicle.

I hate how they rip the wool out of my Adams Merino Wool mitt.

I hate how you can't clean the paint they cover/block.

I hate how no matter how well you blow dry..they still hold enough water to streak the paint later.

Ram doesn't pay me to advertise their name.

Polishing around badging is a PITA.

That makes perfect sense now. I hate cleaning around them as well. And whoever mentioned the streaking water later, is spot on. It ****** me off.

I found that using a splitting maul, gently wedged between the door and the emblem works swell.
Just remember, give it a couple of close low speed swings before the overhead chop. Don't want to nick the paint!

Yep! It's like driving a billboard around!!! I know it's a RAM, a 1500, and 4x4. I don't care if others know!
