Ok so the mopar M1 is unavailable. Is the hughes f1 available, and if so what are the supporting mods you mentioned? If I get the F1 and the supporting mods, will I see any gains? Mine needs to be repaired. So if I'm going to do it, I might as well mod it up, and get some power gains while I'm at it lol.

The M1 is apparently being made in small batches and you can still buy them. Get the M1.

You'll see crazy gains just with replacing the plenum. You toss an M1 on it and do supporting mods and you'll be giddy.

So when I do a search for it, what do I type into Google? And I still don't know exactly what the supporting mods are.

Ok, so I noticed a few people mention having trouble reinstalling the stock fuel rail with the new manifold. Is there any type of fuel rail I should look into getting, or is there some kind of modification for the stock one?

You need the install kit as well, see below for the Mopar performance part numbers.

When you go to install the M1 intake don't use cork end gaskets, use the rubber/metal ones. Mopar or the Felpro kit has them.

P5007852 M1 intake, 2 bbl mpi, aluminum, single plane, magnum direct replacement, without EGR 1997-02 5.2/5.9 same height as stock manifold.

P5007638 Magnum intake manifold installation kit $69.95

Intake gasket set.

P4876049 Intake Manifold Gasket Set (5.9L Truck Magnum/Jeep Engines) $33.25

Cheap way to get the new intake bolts.

P4876772 Intake Manifold Attaching Bolts (5.2L/5.9L Truck Magnum/Jeep Engine $7.75 for all of them.

I like to install new lifters while I am in there not to expensive

P5249862 Magnum hydraulic roller tappets-set of 16 $117.50

Ok so the intake and installation kit got it. As for the mentioned supporting mods, I have a cai and an aftermarket tb. Also aftermarket single exhaust. Anything else you would recommend, merc? You seem to know more about this topic than I do lol.

Your biggest bang lies in a tuner, you have the death flash 99% guaranteed. A tuner will get rid of this and alter your TQ management (very little in these years), fuel trim, timing and more. Next would be a set of 1.7 rr's or better a nice cam.

With this all said you should do a comp test on the motor before you get mod happy. Also a good A/F wideband gauge is nice to have and will help with getting your tune spot on.

Edit; With your truck and motor = 390 stroker kit.

Helped my son replace plenum gask on his 01 5.9. Took most of the day but replaced cam sensor, rotor, and cap. Also valve cover gask.Just got this truck short time ago. Thanks to the forum we were able to diagnose and fix it. Not sure if cat is plugged but ecm has death flash sticker.Think o2 sense is good (no code). Got plenum kit from Hughes. If I had extra intake pan I would have made my own. It's just 1/4 in alum.I'm new here so forgive my rambling.

So it sounds like if you reuse the stock plenum pan you should to shorten the bolts. It would make sense to me if you a thicker aluminum pan you do not need to shorten the pan bolts, correct?

As far as i'm aware, a thicker gasket or shortening of the bolts will suffice. I've heard of doing both.

All symptoms listed are symptoms my husband has experienced through the past few years which has led him to plans of sending his engine in for remanufacture. He thought he had blown head gaskets and used Blue Devil a few years ago, which stopped the water consumption and noticeably slower the oil consumption. If his heads were cracked instead of blown gaskets, would the Blue Devil have helped this as well?

Technically it shouldn't have had an effect on oil consumption but I've seen weirder things.
