Yeah kinda thought the relay might be different. Was thinking more along the lines of reusing the spiffy wrapped wiring? But I havnt even looked at the wiring yet.

So I'm thinking about picking up a set of these and doing and FX-R retrofit. I spent a few hours searching and I haven't found any good threads that specifically show this process. I have an understanding of the baking process, but I'm interested in how the FX-Rs mount and are adjusted once you get the head lights open. Can anyone point me in the right direction to a thread or offer some insight?

I used 90mm on mine. They unfortunately don't seem to be holding up so well though. One of them has already lost about a third of the LED's. Not sure if it's the cold or having them run constant when the HID's are on? I've heard they can be kinda sensitive to both extremes.

Mine are the previous gen Morimoto's though so maybe the current production are a less sensitive?

Yup, Pigeonman convinced me to not risk the Halo's in the cold,
So I had JJ add Amber LED Demon Eyes instead (LED Concepts kit) $50
Looks just as good IMHO and are available in color morph with remote for $100

Tied to the park lamp circuit and shuts off when the low beam is turned on.

Lol... Really? Too bad. I wished mine would've turned out as well.... but I did give you both the heads up.

At least you could've given me the props for it......... JK :waytogo:

I was chatting with my supplier the other day about these rings........

Quite a few things coming on them soon. Thermal protection, so the ring shuts to half power when too hot - as the leading cause of the ring failure is that it gets too hot, LEDs die. Another part that will be added is a shutoff wire. Like the amber demon eyes we did for Mike there, there are 3 wires then. Ground, Power and shut off. No need to run a demon eye when the HIDs are on (or even your halos.....really) - and to keep them safe with the extra heat of the lights being on......off they'd go.

Can't wait for those to arrive! And......as always, continuous improvement from the fellas at TRS. Can't wait to see what they have in store for 2015.

How is the fit compared to OEM?

From what I understand they are exact replacements for OEM, JJ could tell you better. My LED tails I purchased from JJ were an exact fit love 'em they're bright as hell and look factory.

How do they wire up? Trying to wrap my head around how they would hook up.

Its just 3 wires. You'd wire 2 to your 12v source, and the 3rd to the headlight low beam positive.

How is the fit compared to OEM?

TYC goes through quite a bit of testing and product development to ensure that their products not only perform great, but fit like stock as well. I've personally installed a set of these into a brand new 2014 Sport and was quite happy with the way they fit.

Bingo! :word:

So because you don't have 50 posts yet, you can't post in the for sale section, so instead, you find a random thread that is 9+ momths old, about TYC Projectors, and you post your gauge cluster for sale in it?!?!?!

This is the perfect example of what NOT to do if you don't want to be banned lol...
