First, I never knew that there was a Ram forum.
Second, I just bought a 2011 2500 (hence my moniker), and was wondering if a Reese hitch insert would work in the factory Class 4 hitch mount which is on the truck now.

Just bought the truck last week, never had a 2500 before. Don't plan to tow with it, but use it hunting. I've had to pull out my buddies Chev stretch cab 1500 twice with my former truck, the Dodge Dakota on hunting days.

And, while I'm thinking of it, where can I get "reasonably" priced front tow hooks for the truck? Not to slam Mopar, but over $100 for two silly tow hooks seems a bit much. The mounting brackets are there, the hooks are not. I really don't want to buy the hooks that mount to the frame.

Thanks in advance for any and all input.

Thanks for the input.

I'll be getting a Jason cap, no side windows, ventvisors, step bars, mud guards in about a week.

Sure, a lifted truck would look mean, but I've always been a "stock" sort of guy, and now with the 3/4 ton, I don't have to beef much up. I don't tow a trailer, the drawbar/insert would be used in emergencies when I would have to pull someone out of a field or a snowbank.

I did, however, get brand new Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires on the truck when I bought it. These tires appear awesome.

When I get the cap, etc. installed, I'll be posting pics somewhere.

There's some TowReady hooks here for close to $30 a piece. The shank length is around 7-3/4" and the capacity is around 10,000 pounds, too. And as for the hitch for the 2011, the site's got a hitch selector where you input the make and model and it usually gives a low-end to high-end receiver in return.
