2016 Express add tow hooks?

I'm looking to add front tow hooks. I've read a few other threads, and I'm aware I'm going to have to cut the openings myself. I don't trust myself enough to do the cutting with out removing the plastic cover. My question is how to get it off? I can easily take off the plastic cover on the bottom, just a few bolts..... but then I run into these clips, and I have no idea how to take them off, so before I just get a case of red butt, and break them, thought I'd ask the guys that know a ton more about these things than I do.

Those covers are just held on by 4 small bolts. The clips stay attached to the cover and the whole thing slides out towards the center. I wouldn't bother cutting them, just buy the ones made for the tow hooks they're fairly inexpensive.

Thanks for the info. I don't have a choice but to cut the openings for the hooks, the insert boxes do not fit the 2016 express.

What does your bumper look like? Before you start cutting the plastic!

That's exactly like mine. I ended up switching the hooks to opposite sides when I installed them. When you get the plastic piece out sick the hooks up into the mounting holes and you will see what I mean. They come very close to the bumper. If you switch sides they fit much better.
