I am considering buying a dual axle car hauler (18') but it only has brakes on one axle. I live in IL and the trailer is up in WI where they have more relaxed trailer and licensing laws. Is it easy to add brakes to the second set of wheels/axle?

It belongs to a friend and he is offering me a very good price.

I was told, and I confess I have not investigated, that IL requires brakes on both axles.

Thanks!
Bill

http://www.etrailer.com will have everything you need. You can even order entire axles with brakes and suspension if needed.

eTrailer or Northern tool or even a Tractor supply if you have one near you will have the axle, just swap it out connect the electrical to the existing system and your done.

Just make sure you get the same axle type and width as whats on there now
