2014 1500. Has tow package but not brake controller. Are aftermarket controllers "plug and play" or do they need wire splicing?

Yes it will require some splicing but it's pretty simple, just follow the directions that come with controller. Do your research though cause there is a lot of junk ones on the market.

Tekonsha P3 is the best. If that's the one you decide on I have a new unused "plug and play" wire harness for it for sale.

Ram/Dodge #3024 "plug & play" wiring harness for installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller.

I paid $26.00 incl shipping, will sell for $15.00 incl shipping.

I have this wire harness because was going to install the Tekonsha P3 but got a deal I couldn't pass up on the factory controller.

Note the 3024 adapter does not fit a 2013/2014 RAM, the OP would need the 3023 referenced above. But with the adapter it's plug and play, takes longer to figure out where to mount the brake controller.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm doing some research on e-trailer.
