I have a 2010 dodge ram 1500 crew cab 4x4 5.7 hemi with tow package. I tow a TT which is about 7000 lbs and have weight distribution hitch. It pulls it pretty good but get some bouncing over bumps etc.. Was told I should add air bags to rear and it would help. Anyone use air bags in this situation and recommendations? Also been thinking about adding a leveling kit to the truck mainly just for looks. Will this effect anything if I add the air bags and lift kit far as towing, etc?

I have a 2014 ram 1500 and having the air lift 1000 installed next monday. I tow a 26 ft camper and this should be enough to raise it up. Thought about the air lift 5000 but figured if I need that much I should get a 3/4 ton. Not getting the compressor though.

The air bags will help the bouncing if you get a good set designed for towing. They don't compress as much as the springs, depending on the psi you set them at.

I have airbags and they do help, but they will not help the bounce much. They will make the springs more difficult to compress, but the shocks keep the truck from bouncing.

I have the TLC kit. I did have the airlift 1000's. They were ok, but the TLC kit is much better and actually raises your truck with weight.

With a level kit you will look like its sagging more than it actually is even with air bags. Look into tuft truck springs, I've heard good things about them.

I had a set of Firestone RideRite bags in my 1500 Mega Cab. Pulled my 7k+ camper just fine with the cheap WDH from Harbor Freight. Will definitely be putting a set in my 2500 wether I need them or not. Even unloaded it felt like it rode so much smoother.

I have the Firestone set in my truck as well. They do help the ride height and help smooth out the ride. However, they help control the bounce but will not eliminate it.

If you're going to level the truck..definitely get the airlift 5000.

Here's my 2014 with the airlift 1000. I even had a 1" rake without the trailer on. I hate squat..so this bothered me.

With the airlift 5000 you'll always be level.

I tow a 26 ft travel trailer with my 2015 Ram 1500. I will never own another Ram without the 1000's installed. Huge difference. Doesn't squat past a level point. I run about 27-30lbs in the bags. My trailer has a tongue weight of about 800 lbs. Truck is waaay more stable while towing with the bags vs without. Highly recommend them.

Same here except when hauling my trailer I keep the bags at max 35 psi. I highly recommend them as well.
