save yourself ! removing the rear coils is a ten min job !

1 jack truck up from rear punkin/ two jack stands under frame
2 remove rear tires
3 remove lower shock bolts
4 remove upper sway bar bolts
5 lower jack to the point the springs fall out but not as far as getting the brake lines tight..

If you have basic tools and a garage floor doing this will take less than a 1/2hr ..

I have a shop and it takes me ten min to have the rear coils out .....

Cool thanks, I'll look into that. I definitely got the tools and garage. Guess it'll depend on how easy the bolts come off.

Raising the rear beam and getting the springs seated can be real tricky by yourself, as can getting the sway bar bolts and lower shock bolts to line up again. 2 people? Laughably easy. By yourself? Could be frustrating and difficult.

I've posted this picture several times. Once you zip tie it it takes about 5 seconds to install between the coils. Like others have said warm them up a little and they will fold easily and you won't need a bar to pry them in.

I run these in my truck. One word of caution, when its cold (think -30C and below) there is a possibilty to burst a bag. I know, I did it when out hunting. As for installs, the zap strap method works awesome, as I replaced the burst bag in -20C weather using it. I did however need to use a sawzall to remove the wrecked one.

Good info; should be the mid 40's Saturday and the wife is working, so I should be able to give it a go.

Finally got a warm enough day to try this, gotta say it's maybe a few more steps but like Bartlett said I removed shock and sway bar bolts.... What an easy way! Thanks for the help!
