The kit requires that you cut off the bump stop and then the upper bracket mounts to the surface that you cut the bump stop off, then the L shaped portion of the bracket is screwed into the side of the frame. But the frame is curved to fit the rear coil spring so there is not a flat surface to attach the bracket to.

Anyone else have this issue?

I just installed the air bags into the springs tonight. It's really easy and running the hose was even easier. I just wished it wasn't 90degrees.

It should't be that hard if you have the correct one.

I got it all installed but it definitely wasn't a perfect fit.

The bracket doesn't match the curve of the frame but it works.

If I had to do it again I would buy the timber grove airbags. That's what I get for trying to save a little money

I put them in last Tuesday took a 500-mile trip and back and they worked beautifully.

No these are the ones that you mount where the bump stop goes

Get Timbergrove airbags, nothing to cut off with them

You may want to email AirLift to find out if you have e clearance being your truck is lowered, there might not be enough room for the airbags to sit properly. There is also a bump stop inside those airbags, you might not sit as low or ride on the stops.
I don't think you have room for the Timber Grove bags as the sit under the bump stop cup.
Another is just gotta a rear airbag suspension: https://kelderman.com/shop/catalog/category/view/s/default-category/id/2/

Nothing spectacular.
I had aired up the bags to haul a 12ft enclosed trailer for the scouts and ended up not hauling after all and left the air in the bags. While in my neighborhood making a right turn i hear a big pop and figured i had ruptured a hose or something.
Turns out it was a bag and if you look at the pictures you'll see the other is bulging too :(.

That sucks. They're lifetime warranty so why not get them to replace them? Even though you are installing beefier ones it can't hurt to have an emergency set around.

The latest version of the Airlift 5000 no longer requires you to cut the bumpstop mounts off, but they do require at least 8 1/8" clearance between the vehicle frame and jounce bumper strike plate.

I'll measure tonight to see if the 5000s are an option.
I'll give them a call about the warranty also.

Thanks

I wish you better luck on the warranty than I had. I had the 1000s, after about a year, one developed a leak. Didn't blow, but wouldn't hold any air. Tested the airline, tested the valve, all good there, so it was definitely the bag.

After going back and forth for over a week via email with them asking for various bits of information that I had already provided in my warranty registration, they asked me to call them to discuss the problem. If they had asked me to call them to begin with, cool, but there was no point in over a week (typically with two-day delayed responses on their end) of discussion only to have me call them. The way their customer service sounded was something along the lines of "this email thing is to hard."

I was probably a bit petty, but I was already annoyed when they asked me to call. If their point was to try and get me to stop bothering them over a warranty on a pair of sub-$100 air bags, it worked. I threw my 1000s away. However, they also lost a customer that will probably not buy their stuff again.

I bought the Timbergroves. So far, they work quite well, and I can inflate them even when the truck is loaded. With the 1000s, if you did it after loading, it did not lift the truck up to reduce the squat.
