Excuse me if this has been addressed already, I have searched this forum and others and have not seen a definative answer to my question.

I have a '17 Ram 1500 and plan to install some TufTruck TTC-1211 springs to beef up the rear somewhat. I also would like to install some Bilstein B8 5100 (24-187374) rear shocks, to replace the OEM. Being as the Bil's have 1" more travel than OEM and the 1211 springs are a bit shorter than OEM, my concern is that when the suspension is completely extended, the springs may be a tad loose in their seats and cause issues.

Are there any members who have gone with this combination of 5100's shocks and 1211 springs (or 1223V)? If so have you seen any issues with noise, undue wear on the mounting seats, etc.? I'm assuming everything will be good, but thought I'd ask some experienced members before proceeding.

Also, I do plan on installing the Bilstein B8 5100's in the front to adjust the ride height. This is the main reason for wanting to use the 5100 rears too, but would using the Bilstein B6 4600 rear shocks balance out well also?

Thanks Dave

So I have the 1223 Springs, and Bils in the rear. I don’t have a problem with what you are talking about.

My springs are not the Variable rate ones.

No issues as of yet and about 13k miles.

Were your springs shorter than the OEM, when installed?

The didn’t look shorter but maybe by a little bit, the Bils definitely had about 1-2” more travel than the stock shocks

some reading as i was also finding little on 1211's.

I don't think they'll be loose. I'm pretty sure your shock will top out when stuffed on the other side. Also the rear sway bar link must be removed to get them in so unless you plan on leaving it disconnected in the rear... Haven't put on an RTI ramp but I think it will be fine.

The 4600's might be shorter in length than the 5100 counter parts as they list the 5100's for 0 - 1 inch of lift vs stock for other.

I see no reason to do 4600's as the cost is not significantly more. Maybe if you like yellow. sorry no uncompressed measurement on 4600's but if their same as stock its atleast an inch.

The stock fronts will become a bit softer when you put in the 1211's as the rear is quite a bit firmer as your changing ride height and spring rate. I have not done my front shocks yet. Since i'm already fitting my tire size and tow a travel trailer, i'll be setting mine at 1.4" so i'm not nose high when towing or contemplating exceeding payload.

edit: When i do my oil change in a bit i'll put a ramp under the front on one side and rear on the other to test how likely they are to fall out when twisted up.

I set my Bils at 2.8 and I don’t have a huge problem when loaded up.

This is prior to adjusting the load in my trailer.
And my WD hitch.

Thanks for the info, I plan on going 1.4 on the fronts too.
And I absolutely hate yellow, so I REALLY do not want to go with the 4600's. :happy107:

Interesting, are you sure those are 5100? The ones on my last truck and the ones I am about to grab for this one are both silver.
