Ok bought my first Ram. I have the two little buttons on my lower dash in the center that slide together and apart. You just squeeze them together. Is that a factory trailer brake? Or what does it do? Lol sorry for dumb question...lol

That’s it lol...works ok? Good to go to haul my boat? Don’t need aftermarket one?

It will work better than an aftermarket to haul your boat as it will have the brake settings on your instrument cluster. Does your boat have trailer brakes? If so, yes it will work.

I have that same set up as in the pic. Center dash. You slide the buttons together and apart. That’s all I need right? Yeah boat as electric brake set up.

Ooohhh misread your reply. Lol. So it will come up on my dash when plugged into the trailer??

Yes, between the Speedometer and tach in that screen, should even display something if you squeeze them and nothing is hooked up.

Most boat trailers don’t have electric brakes, they are usually surge hydraulic brakes and won’t use the truck brake controller at all and just have a flat 5 pin trailer connector. Until you get into much bigger 3 axle boat trailers, then they will be electric over hydraulic and will use your brake controller.
