I have a 2014 RAM 1500 Sport. I believe it is the max tow setup for this model. Around 10,300 lbs with the 3.9 gears, short bed, etc.

I am towing a very large boat. It is all of 9000 lbs with the trailer. I just hate how it squats (see pics). My setup is basically stock. 66k miles.

What should I do? Lift kit and bigger tires? Level it? I don't want to go too big. This is my daily driver. I just want to feel a little safer towing.

One question I had is I also bought a Gen-Y hitch and it sticks out quite a bit more and probably shoves the tongue weight back a few inches. Would this make it squat more? Thanks in advance!

I have some TufTruck TTC-1223 Springs and with my 7600lb Camper it barely squats. I also added AirLift 1000 airbags for warm fuzzies.

I have not but only because I haven't heard of it.

Educate me.

Benefit? Cost?

Springs cost me 203 shipped to my door from sdtrucksprings.com

And my airlift was 83 on Amazon

That looks good. What about a level kit or small lift?

Also, does it ride rougher now unloaded with those springs?

I found a site. Airliftcompany.com or Autoanything.com, sdtrucksprings.com. They are adjustable, some have a fob to make changes. Really depends how much you wish to spend

So my Bils raised the front about 3.5 inches and these springs unloaded raised it about 3" in the back, so I have some rake still which is what I wanted.

It does ride a little rougher but not that I mind. It is a truck after all. Night and Day with my camper hooked up. You can just tell in the pic above that the TufTruck springs are way beefier

A level kit will make it even worse. You will be nose high when towing, and the steering dynamic gets weird.

I think I am going to go with AFMoulton's solution. Thanks man!

Do you have a link to the airlift you got on amazon?

Anyone else have any input on the lift or bigger tires?

If the squatting bothers you, DO NOT lift your truck. Visullay it will amplify your issue. Helper bags and or stiffer coil springs will fix your issue.

You mentioned your concerned about towing safety. Fixing the squatting isssues won't make your towing any safer. I know your numbers put you close to your limit, and I don't recommend towing over it, however We all know these trucks are built on a frame that can handle the limit. The first thing I would be doing to enhance towing safety would be upgrading the brake system. Then perhaps a sway bar upgrade, and then coils and bags.

Did you use the Bilsteins on the truck you posted pics of?

I sure did.

So the only reason that I did the bils was because this springs will raise the back of your truck 2-4" only because they are stiffer. I didn't lift it, I changed the springs to benefit my towing.

I see. So the bils allow you to adjust the front and back to a perfect level after putting the new coils in?
