I may be too dumb to tow or haul

I've looked a few times but cannot seem to find the yellow and white sticker I was expecting listing my available payload capacity from factory. I'm seeing the VIN plate listing the GVWR 6800lb but that's it.

I'm only seeing my config (CREW CAB - 5'7" Box 4x4 A6 3.55)with GVWR 6900lb listed in this PDF
http://www.rambodybuilder.com/2015/docs/ram/rammlup1500.pdf. Note 10 indicates the variance is due to wheels but I'm not seeing a max payload or max trailer rating. I'm guessing my max payload would be 1450lb. Does that sound correct?

Not sure where that would but max trailer rating, which given max payload may be a moot point but I would still like to know. At the scale with just the kid and I the weight read as 5974lb with no cargo and no hitch:confused:. My wife and the typical passenger are going to add almost another 300lb, so 6250lb 500lb cargo capacity left for cargo and/or trailer tongue weight.

Feel stupid ordering the curt 14374 over the 13333(not installed), the added weight may cause me issues if I give any heavy set friends a ride:shakehead:.

Annoying I can't swap wheels and (legally) get the extra 100lb of GVWR back. Still hope to do make the swap eventually.

Guessing RamBox option is where I added some weight I was not expecting ...

Should be in the drivers door opening somewhere. Try the B-pillar, might be down low. It was there from the factory.

Not sure the weight of one hitch is significantly more than another hitch.

Yes, the Rambox adds weight, which subtracts from your available payload.

The good news is I was not just being dumb and the sticker was missing and replaced under warranty.

The bad news is the sticker says my max passenger and cargo weight is 1054lb. I was expecting it was going to be over 1150...

So "if" I were to drive my 5 coworkers (all well over 200lbs) to the airport with our luggage (at least 40lb each) I would be overloaded at almost double my payload rating.

At these low number that extra 40lb-50lb could be a big a big deal!

If 40 or 50 lbs is the difference between being above or below your payload, you don't have nearly enough truck. In all honesty, half ton trucks are not designed to tow at their max rating on a consistent basis. They are designed to carry those weights sometimes. Lighter frames, lighter transmissions, softer suspensions, passenger rated tires are all designed for comfort around town, not for constant work cycle.

A 3/4 or 1 ton truck is designed to carry their max rating 100% of the time. They have heavier frames, transmissions, axles, suspensions, brakes, wheels and tires that are designed for that 100% duty cycle.
