I told the dealer what I want but I have one question, I order to some tow mirror for it and my question is do I really need them, since I'm not planning on tow a lot but some? I guess that I can go with some of those attachable kind when I need to tow.

If you are going to tow at all you should get them.

Yeah, I was thinking about that, I'm ordering the Laramie so it will be fully loaded and it will have the 8 speed, 3.92 gears.

My wife HATES mirrors which aren't color matched like our stock Sports. So we have add-on tow mirrors which don't vibrate much and look OK, but due to the short reach of the stockers, the add-ons just don't reach our far enough to be helpful. Better, but not great.
I'd have tow mirrors if I had my choice. Will probably end up with some aftermarket tow mirrors and pay out the **** to have the rotating portion painted to match the truck.

I was just thinking that they stick out like a sore thumb, how much bigger are they to the regular ones?

That's a very good question; I measured on my way out this morning.
My Sport mirrors from base to outer edge measure 15". Can someone measure their stock tow mirrors in both 'in' and 'up' positions for comparison?

The Sport that I have has motorized fold in mirrors. If you get the trailer mirrors, they're not motorized.

I pull a trailer so little, I don't need them and would rather have the option to fold them in.

BUGGER!!! Don't rub it in that the RAM description for my mirrors was extremely deceptive. We thought they would fold in like Ford's, but "power" referred to moving the mirror within the housing. I have to get out every time we park it/leave and fold the mirror. Argh. I'm THIS close to putting an eye hook on the outside edge and carrying around a broomstick.

Not to derail the thread, but anyone swap the newer power folding mirrors on a pre-2013 truck or know if it would work? I would love to put some on my 2012.

Power folding mirror would be a good ideal, I have to drive in my garage and I don't have a lot of room, don't want to run into my wife 2012 Buick Enclave I might have to leave town.
