So I have not had a travel trailer for the last 5 years and need to get a Load Leveling/Weight Distribution hitch again for the new trailer. I need the 1000/10000 lb mode. I used to have just the plain Reese Trunnion setup (not Dual Cam) worked ok. Now there seems to be a lot more choices out there. I was looking at the Reese Steadi-Flex, does anyone have any experience with this? Are there much better models out there? I know Equal-i-zer is a good one but I like the brake pad material on the Reese. All opinions welcome.

I'm new to this and I am no expert by any mean so when I pick up my TT last week the dealer sold me the eaz-lift weight distribution hitch with sway control elite, it can be noisy but until I can find better it's working pretty good.

Love my Equalizer, no additional sway control needed. 14 years, 3 trucks, 2 trailers, 150,000 + miles.

I watched a dude almost lose a foot with a bargain model. Bar went straight down. Hard. Made me appreciate my BlueOx Swaypro. As long as you don't go (too) cheap you should be happy with most of the new products out there.

I have a Husky Centerline TS and I love how it's set up and that it has built in sway control. Works great and is rated for 1400/14000. cf9c6977028939ff908e12b6cdd9fc1b.jpg

Add me to the list of Blue Ox users. I have the sway pro 2000.

I tried getting the Blue Ox, but it kept getting pushed back on delivery because I needed the one for bottom mount coupler. So I went with the Reese Straight Line. It can be a pain to set up, but paired with a Curt 2.5" drop receiver, it's great to tow with. Can be noisy without grease, but the sway is pretty much non-existant now. I love it!

However, for ease of use, I wish I had been able to get the Blue Ox.

Blue Ox here as well. Mine is only the 500lb model as my trailer is now small. Max tongue of 480 and it only weighs 3180 dry. Heck, I currently pull it with my R/T. With all of our stuff in the trailer it only weighs around 3700 lbs. Add water in the tank (Rarely ever do) and it pushes up to 4000 lbs. Not much in the truck besides my wife and I and we hit the scales a little over 500lbs under the limit. That's only if I carried everything above, which I rarely do.

I have a small hybrid 17' TT weighs about 3200. I know with the size i do not actually need a WD hitch. Trailer is reese trunnion setup on it. I need to get he right bars for it as it is light. Does anybody see any issues using he friction type sway control setup without he weight distribution bars? I have a QC 1500.

I'm still using my old Reese trunnion bar setup. I thought about going to the dual cam (friction) setup as I have the brackets but I really haven't felt the need.. The only issue I have had was my pressure washers allow the head to move on me even with #350 of torque, so i just made a solid steel block to set the ball angle... newer hitches have toothed or cammed washers..
