Drove 60 miles with 4 trailers stacked. 7,100lb total. 20' in length. Have Prodigy P3 brake controller (which I needed because some idiot decided to walk across the highway and also drive thru Dallas city highway traffic.

First time with a load like this and it handled beautifully. People that say they can't feel a thing when pulling a load like this are liars, that is for sure, but I wasn't sweating or anything. Was fairly easy. Before I do another load like this I'm getting a Loadlifter 5000 installed to level out the truck, but I only had 3" of drop in the back. Oh, and I'm getting chains to strap down my trailers lol.

I would think you would of got better than 8mpg. It is not like you're dealing with a closed trailer catching all the wind.

My 6 speed with 3.55 did well with an open 8000 lbs weight trailer as well. Plenty of power but I agree, you definitely feel that weight behind you.

As for rear sag, I went with the tuftruck progressive coils instead of air bags. I think 1223V was the part number. I like the ride with the progressive springs and a no fuss no muss option. I'm probably in the minority for coils over bags preference though. Just my $.02.

Does the truck ride rougher unloaded with the coil springs?

If you haul all the time might as well get the TTC springs and be done with it.

Still haven't gotten bags or coils. Am picking up another load (but quite a bit lighter) in the morning. This time I'm not going to be pushing it with the gas pedal and passing so many people. I'll see if I can get a decent MPG. Still in the air on what I'll put in the back, but am leaning towards bags so my ride isn't rougher all the time.

go with the tufftruck 1223 v springs it rides nice and increases your payload capacity 25% more.i have them on my truck and I pull a fifth wheel minimal squat.

Your max payload capacity doesn't increase by using those coils. Your max is your max.
Go with the airbags. It gives you the same smooth ride you have now and when you load up 1300lbs in the bed, you can have zero squat if you choose.

ok ill reword this I meant because of the weak factory coils the squat at or near the 1400 lb payload is excessive the coils I put on acts like when you put 700 lbs in the rear end with stock coils sorry for the limited explanation before.
