How on earth did you manage to do that? I thought my 1500 was heavy, 6300# is just fat, obese even. Do you have lift / tires / toolbox, etc ?
I asked myself the same question........
I've had this same thing on every truck I've ever weighed. I just figure things add up - even a spray in bed liner probably weighs 25# or more? Floor mats, the bin on change in the console, the piece of plywood in the bed to protect the liner, that bin with jumper cables and a tow strap.... it just all adds up.
I does indeed add up, I weighed all that junk
Here is just a sample of what I was calculating:
Actual scaled weight was 6420 lbs (this is where I almost shiot a brick)
Front axle 3620
Rear axle 2800
Sure seems heavy up front
2 car seats, 1 booster: 60.41 lbs
BakFlip F1: 55 lbs
Weight difference of larger than stock tires: 81.2 lbs
Me at the time: 215
Gcwv = 6800
Payload on door = 1195
6800 - 1195 = 5605 lbs
Truck weighted 5605 lbs stock (maybe?!?!?!)
6420-5605 = 815 lbs of "added weight"
815-411(weight I have accounted for) = 404 lbs still in accounted for
I know the lift on my truck didn't add 400lbs.......heck, the weight of all the boxes shipped didn't add up to 400 lbs IIRC. I'm sure it added some weight but damn..........I guess that big *** beefy skid plate up front is heavier than I thought.
Either way, she's a hefty lady, makes me even that much more impressed with how quick she moves and the MPG's I get!
