I began installing the total load control system yesterday. I have included pictures. I will post part two in a few days. Make sure you test each tubing fitting prior to putting dash and other parts back together. Use a spray bottle with a mixture of dish soap and water and test each connection. I found a leak at the compressor inlet that would have been a major problem if I had not tested prior to reinstalling things. It lost about 3 psi per hour but that is enough to make you continuously have to reinflate the bags as you tow long distances.

Thanks. That system is something I'm going to be considering down the road apiece. Hope it works out really well for you long term, and I appreciate you sharing the info.

trip reply

I will be leaving this Friday for the trip. Will report back in a couple of weeks on how the bags performed. As far as the mounting area on the dash- you must remove the bottom panel under the steering column, two screws and pull loose. then there is one screw on the inside of the mounting area you access through the open panel. Then pop loose the outer flat panel between the dash and door and remove the second screw and then the brake control mounting area will come out the front of the dash. The only problem I encountered with the location of the gage is you must be aware it can be a knee banger for the driver if he is not careful getting in and out. It isnt a problem for me but someone else driving my truck could get nailed. Before dismantling this hold your gage unit in that spot and see how you like it. You may decide you like a better location along the dash but I didnt find anywhere else I though would be as convienient and look as good. Hope this helps.

Final installment- TLC install

Took the camp trailer out right after my installation of the air bag system. I had a major meltdown of the air line to the bags within 2 miles of home. I continued on the trip and drove 550 miles with no rear suspension as the deflated bags afforded no factory rear suspension travel. I had installed this system and test drove the truck about 50 miles to make sure that everything worked correctly before setting out on the camping trip but I got a major surprise when the truck was loaded down. It was my own fault as I ran the pressure line within 6 inches of one of the cat coverters and assumed it would be OK. It certainly was not and the repair was to run the air line OUTSIDE of the frame to gain more space between the cat and the line. Dont make the same mistake I did when installing this system. It works fantastic now and the folks at TLC bent over backwords to help remedy this. Double check your clearances between your exhaust system and the bags. When the line melted down my exhaust was within 2 inches of the exhaust and it melted down one of the bags when deflated. I have since moved the exhaust to give at least 6 inches of clearance when the bags are deflated.

I am glad I installed these because of the abnormal tire wear I experienced when towing my 7000 LB. trailer and hauling the 800 LB. ATV in the back of the truck.
Hope this helps with anyone else considering the TLC system.

So do you have the stock hemi dual exhaust system on your truck? If the bags don't fit properly with the stock exhaust I guess I may not install it.

Thanks again for of your info!!!!!!!

dual exhausts

No I dont have the stock duals. I had a cat back system installed last year and the side they put in was just low enough to create enough heat on the bag to melt it. The stock side has plenty of clearance so when the re-did the added side they raised it to the same height of the stock side and now I have lots of clearance.
