I really want tow hooks on my sport but not sure the parts I need to order and how to do it. I have the bumper with the black strip on it and was thinking that I could cut through the strip but I'm not sure how to install them through there

There are a few DIY to do these to sports. There about $150 for the pair and not much cutting.

If I'm not mistaken you can even buy the peice made for the sports with tow hooks or if your handy and confident with a grinder just cut the one you have. I want to add the tow hooks onto my express and add the billet insert across the bottom.

Why hooks? Planning on getting stuck?

I want to put them because I like the way they look, plus if you do end up stuck and have to get pulled out from the front your screwed without the hooks as hooking up underneath is going to tear the **** out of the bumper since it hangs lower.

Hi All,
I wold imagine that you would only have to cut the front fascia where they stick out. Otherwise the frame is the same and the mounts should also be the same.
As for uses they are a lot more useful than just getting stuck. Any time you have pull/drag/move something they are handy to have. I have used them to lower huge branches out of trees, drag a busted up shed around, and pull some else out of a ditch.
Keeping them will definitely be a selling point when I am ready for a grill guard winch mount.

you cannot buy the piece with tow hook cutouts for sports or express's, just go to your local dealer and ask for the hooks, they come with everything needed and priced well, 160ish up here in Canada so for you guys it must be good, if you plan to put a light in between you could simply remove that insert and leave it out, the hooks do sit low in sport and express bumpers but do still look good, heres a couple pics of mine, you can kind of see in one pic there is not much meat left between the hook and the light so it would probably look cleaner completely removed

I cant remember the part number offhand but should be easy to find, they are the same on all 1500 09-14 and probably 15 as well, light bar was just a ebay cheap and its starting to show, probably 6-7 leds out full of moisture and corosion inside the lense, i recently put a sirius led bar on my bike and its awesome, made by rigid but a fraction of a price, same specs just different optics as thats rigids secret to success,

Which tow hooks are those though because the moose ones say "only applicable for steel bumpers"

Looks awesome :waytogo: so I guess the sports didn't come factory with them? I had it in my head for some reason that the tow hooks were a factory option on the sports learn something new every day why I love this forum.

I am looking to buy light bar mounts for same position as pictured above but all I can find are mounts for 3/4 & 1 ton, I would think that they are the same and will bolt right up but I won't be happy if I spend the money and they not be the same. Any input about this or where I can find the light bar bumper mounts for the 1/2 ton models..

2012 crew cab big horn by the way, thanks

I just removed that black valance on my sport and installed the OEM tow hooks as normal.
Eventually I'll install my light bar but driving in northern Alberta all year, tow hooks are a very sound investment

Hidden tow hook Under $30 option Ram Sport

The Mopar tow hook bolt was $8 and Smittybuilt tow hook $20. After taking the bottom plastic valance off aligns well for a hidden look but fully functional tow hook.

They should make metal bumper that can be body color and tow hooks as an option with sport? I don’t get why they don’t. I would personally not buy a sport or other trim with the plastic bumper as I think I would wreck it hunting.
