I have power folding mirrors but would like to know if there are any snap on extensions (2" or 3") available for my RAM and where. I also would like to know if you have had personal experience with these. My current trailer is 7'6" wide but the new one will be 8' wide. In your experience will I even need extensions for the new trailer or is this a waste of money?

Yes you will need something this is what I have, they work OK, but I'm getting factory two mirrors ASAP! My trailer is 8' wide as well and I couldn't see around it without these extensions.

Love my factory tow mirrors. They may not fold, but I can see you.

I haul my 35' 5th wheel without rotating/extending my mirrors. I tried it several times but just don't notice any real difference. It also just makes the truck so wide that I'm afraid of clipping them on something.

with my 34' trailer and the truck with the tow mirrors flipped out, I can see who's tailgating my trailer ;)

Here are the towing mirrors that I ordered today. I think they will work fine. The lady at etrailer contacted Longview to verify that they would fit a 2017 RAM 1500.

I have the slip on ones like linked above. They suck. The mirrors are not very stable, so a lot of shaking going on. Plus they need to be curved a little to give a wider view angle. Too small, too unstable and not a very good field of view.

Let me know how they work. Those are the ones I am looking at getting.

I had a set similar to those on my old truck, hated them, a real PITA to take on and off and shaky.....that said, they are better than nothing

I received these tow mirror extensions yesterday. They are really well made. I quickly installed and adjusted them. We went on a brief highway road trip to see how stable they were at 70 mph. They were very solid. I backed up to the trailer (7' 6" wide) to photograph how the view down the trailer is. I think they will really do the job.

Depending on your budget, I'd just consider getting replacement tow mirrors from A1 auto. Or check for someone that did a power fold conversion and buy theirs.

I personally like having an OEM solution vs slip on mirrors. Especially if you will need it on a regular basis. Renting trailers? I might not worry about it.

Well the verdict is in. I couldn't ask for a better set of towing mirrors. We completed a 380 mile camping trip. These mirrors were steady as a rock, stayed in adjustment, and provided ample rear view. Of course I still retained the power fold feature, puddle lights and turn signal. What could be easier?

I agree. I towed my trailer the first couple of times with the mirrors rotated and found not much difference in sight past the camper. I have since left them in their normal position when towing. You are right about them sticking out too far when rotated. I also believe we add a lot of wind resistance that further cuts our gas mileage.
