I tow a trailer and atv which weighs about 2500 pounds total. I never use my trailer mode because it makes the rpm's run higher and uses more fuel. On hills I sometimes have to kick it out of overdrive to maintain speed. Is it bad to pull not using trailer mode? Should I always use trailer mode when pulling a trailer? And I am running 35" tires which doesn't help.

I never tow, but almost always use the tow/haul mode when not on the highway. I just like the way the truck drives more than without it.

2500 lbs is not a lot. My trailer weighs 3200 lbs empty and I don't use tow mode when empty, but when my fat-ass Challenger is in there, I use it religiously.

As most everyone else is saying, you'll be saving your transmission by using Tow/Haul.
Especially if you are towing in a hilly area. It also helps with engine braking too.

I have towed about 3500 of my 9000 miles with my bikes and actually tried everyway possible. Tow/Haul gets me the best mileage and the truck drives better.

I've towed about 9k+lbs twice round trip for 6 hrs and I noticed with the tow button on my tranny temps were about 15* lower as well
