Post 'em up! I won't badger you about evic mileages, in fact if you have a pic of your readout add it in.

So we took another trip to the Black Hills. 600 miles towing, the rest empty. Towing speeds were mostly 65, except in the BH, where speed limit drops to 50 in a lot of places. The rest of the miles were empty sight seeing.

I did. I was at 100% of my GCWR as we added stuff in out camper. Can't find a used 4.10 geared 6.4l 3500 to save my life, so I bit the bullet on a 2013 6.7. Only 3 c.e.l. so far in 2 mo.s... all DEF related. *sigh* about 2mpg better than my 6.4.

I towed the car to the racetrack this weekend and averaged 13-14mpg between mostly highway and some city driving. Normal mileage under similar conditions would be 17-19mpg. The trailer is about 2,600lbs, the car is 2,900lbs, plus 200lbs of wheels and tires, an air compressor, two coolers, and two 15 gallon storage tanks full in the bed of the truck. The helper bags were maxed out in this pic. Stock springs.

Towed a round trip from Vegas to San Diego. Averaged 13 mpg for almost 670 miles. Cruised mostly at 70mph but shot up to 90mph for a short burst.

Car: 3400lbs
Trailer: 1800lbs
Cargo: 500lbs

5700lbs total, not that heavy I guess.

Took a trip recently to upstate NY with wife and three kids (and all their crap) in the cab with a bunch of luggage and camping stuff in the bed.

On the way there, over 482 miles @ 65-68mph I got 22.62 mpg.

Drove around town for a week, then about 180 miles east to the Adirondack mountains, and then filled up about an hour into the trip home for 465 miles and 21.10 mpg.

Upped the speed (73ish) on the last leg going home since we got out late and didn't want to make it an all day affair. 421 miles and 20.06 mpg.

Don't remember what the EVIC said. I never pay attention to it.

This is as close to towing I get...for now. Caught the wife eyeballing camper trailers online the other day. She doesn't know I know, but here's to hopin'!

Awesome, I love it, I think sometimes that I should have gotten the 3500 6.4L with the 4.10 gears but for me and what I do I'm good to go.

Yeah, I thought that my 2500 6.4l with 3.73 would be enough to pull anything I would ever get. Figured a 24' enclosed car trailer. Little did I know I'd end up getting a toy hauler big enough to tow my Barracuda. Lol. Live and learn.

about 2mpg better than my 6.4.

This is about the drop I saw when going from 06 Duramax diesel to the Hemi. Closer to 3 with winter fuel and/or with lots of hills. The diesel seemed to get the same MPG no matter what it was doing (while towing anyway). The Hemi is much more cranky about stop/go traffic, winter fuel and hills.

I wish that was the case. I've seen the evic read low 7's up to low 11's towing with the cummins, high 5's to high 9's in 6.4l. The averages are/were about 10 and 8.5 respectively. Empty it isn't as affected by wind and speed. A lot of people poo-poo the MDS but it worked for me in most conditions.

My tow mpg is about 10.5 to 11 on mostly flat roads. On hilly terrain and driving into strong headwinds it will drop to the upper 7 to8.5 mpg. I have a 2015 1500 c.c.
with the 5.7 hemi. My trailer loaded is about 7300 lbs.

Just did a trip to the Black Hills. 9 day trip, camped at 3 locations. New 2500 CC 6.4L, only 2500 miles on it when we started the trip. Camper is a 35 ft Outback. Weighs 8,000. Got on the scales once and all together we were 16,000.

Speed and other conditions didn't seem to matter much. Overall average towing was around 8 MPG.

We just got back from the black hills. Camped in the Deerfield Lake area, 14 miles west of Hill City.

I drove about little over a 100+ miles and just fill up today and did it by hand and got 11.6 mpg, all of it wasn't towing after I unhook I drove maybe another 50+ miles so when I go home from my trip I will check it again.

Around 11.2 MPG towing a 7x14 enclosed trailer with a 1200lb load 600 miles. About what I expected, the truck had no problem with it.
