I think a couple guys have them installed. May can search and find them. All were happy from what I can remember. I have the new ones... 50% increase and 1/2" raise on the rear.... Ride isn't bad at all

I went with the 1223v on my 2009. I could tell no difference in how it handled the 8000# trailer I towed. The factory coils would allow the load to sit on the axle stops and the 1223v did the same. I was well within the tow capacity on the truck. Finally just sold the truck and bought a 2500.

I bought my TufTruck 1223-V coils from SD Truck Springs. They have a coupon code right near the top of their home page, which helped lower the price some. Not sure where you might get your set from, since you're in Canada. I didn't notice a ride quality change at all going from factory springs to these. I did notice the handling of corners were improved, but I also added Bilstein 4600's and Air Lift 1000 bags at the same time.

Is there a better option? Maybe the icon coils? I often haul my can am in the box which is close to 1000lbs as well as haul fire wood few times a year

I would not choose ICON's over these, while the ICON's are great, theses are designed and spec'd for higher loads. I can't find ICON's load ratings anywhere.

Also, as I've pointed out like 12 dozen times our trucks sag for a combo of reasons, but one reason is linear spring rate as opposed to a variable spring rate, which Tuff Trucks offers.

I'll explain with easy math, if you put 100lbs on a linear spring, it will compress 1 inch.

If you put 300lbs on a linear spring, it will compress 3 inches.

But if you put 100lbs on a variable spring, it will compress 1 inch. When you put 200lbs on it, it will compress 1.5 inches and then when you put 300lbs on it, it will compress 2 inches. Basically more resistance as the load increases.

In my personal not so humble opinion, 1223v are the way to go.

icons are progressive rate also and say 25% softer then stock initially and 75% stiffer in second rate, I plan to upgrade the shocks at some point in the future too and read that the 1223v's become loose at full droop when used with a shock that allows longer stroke then stock so this has me a bit worried now

I have the 1223v on mine. You can notice a slight stiffer ride in the rear unloaded. Handles sag MUCH better with bed load of appropriate weight. I haul on occasion 1/2 yard of gravel and tow a 14 ft trailer for fire wood. Both are significantly better to do after the springs were swapped from wallow and sag standpoint vs stock. Likely, with 1000 lbs in the bed, you might still be on the bump stops still. one of the reasons I use a trailer.

as for the loose vs stock issue. they're not loose they're about 1/8 inch shorter than the stock but would not describe them as loose at full extension. they're just not as snug as the factory springs.

Sorry about the mistakes new phone, anyways I'm not sure that's why I asked, that's also the only post in my research where they have been used with shocks that are good for a bit of lift such as the 5100's or foxes and so on

I remember reading the same thing. Shorter springs and longer shocks made them sit loose under the truck

So ive been doing some more research trying to decide between the icons and the ttc 1223v coils, icons are dual rate 25% softer in first rate and 75% stiffer in second and give 1.5 inches of lift, the ttc's are progressive rate starting close to stock and progressing to 35% stiffer, they claim stock height but many report some lift, i dont tow a big trailer or anything of the sort frequently, i throw my can am in the box which weighs probably a bit over 800lbs, as well as haul fire wood a couple times a year. I frequently travel back roads and spend alot of time in the bush with nothing in the box witch is why im looking for something thats not full time stiffer causing a harsh ride in those enviroments, with that said anybody have any advice which way to go

I would recommend the 1223v springs. I have them. daily ride is only mildly stiffer but that also leads to better cornering. Hauling, I no longer ride on the bump stops with 1/2 yard of gravel in the bed. I had my 14 ft tandem trailer with 2 cords of wood in it with very mild sag. Compared to before the spring swap, just the 1500 lb trailer empty would cause more sag. Having had some air bag failures in the past, I highly recommend the coils for sag correction. theres minimal ride height change to boot.

Thanks, ya i currently have a busted bag thats why im looking at swapping springs, did you notice any lift or did it stay stock height?

I think it sits about maybe higher by an inch at most. it just looks a little higher than stock but not very noticeable from a visual stand point - no stink bug look. I didn't do any tape measurements before and after so I'm just eye balling it.

Basically, if I drove up to someone with a same year ram I doubt they'd even notice.

cableguy_hd.....I'm trying to decide between the 1223V and the 1211's that you have. I tow a travel trailer and am wanting to eliminate the sag which isn't bad but it's there none the less. I'm not so worried about the factory ride becoming a little stiffer so I'm leaning towards the 1211's. Have you had any negatives with those springs? Thanks
