The key to towing with the 2014 R/T is the wheels and tires. The towing is reduced to 5050 due to the useless 22" wheels and 285/45R22 tires. We changed the tries to standard 2013/2014 20" Sport tires and wheels which brings the rating up to what it should be. Ram says it is 9250 with a short bed and 10,450 with a long bed but that is only because they want to fudge on the safe side for stability. I have pulled more than 10,000 with my 1994 1500 5.9 (But slowly on the highway due to power) and I plan to pull that much and more more easily with our 2014 R/T with weight Dist. hitch and stabilizer. We just got it yesterday.

Remember if you get pulled over and they check your factory weight/towing allowances, they will be stock #s. Changing the wheels and tires doesn't ACTUALLY change those figures. Only your common sense did. They could easily fine you for being "over capacity".
