Glad to have this forum around! Used some of the information to get some upgraded springs (TTC-1223) and Timbrens (DR1500DQ) for my 2015 1500 Laramie. She towed the racecar up to VIR without Any issues! 28ft enclosed with car and tools.
Did the 1223 lift the back end of your truck at all?

Haven't towed it yet but will in about a month or so. Ram 1500 crew cab had it about a month.

I did measure before and after, the rear was lifted a little more than 2" 41.5 from ground to fender in the rear without a trailer on it. I tow the trailer fully loaded maybe 10 times a year, and with the anti-sway setup it pulls better than my 06 2500 hands down. 20160905_194646_zpsy3utvjeq.jpg

7 ton capacity float with a 2700lb car. Picked this up today. Put the load bars from my camper on the trailer and it towed great. I like the integrated brake controller on the ram. Much better than the aftermarket one I had on our '14

I towed my 35' toy hauler at close to 12k and I was driving with white knuckles with my 1500. You must have needed a stiff drink after that tow. Hahaha, after that one tow I went out and bought a new 2500. I'll never do that crap again. Every time a truck passed me on the highway I was all over the road.

Hope he don't have to make an emergency maneuver he would end up back wards upside down in a ditch. Looks like rear on the bumps stops / over axle with front in the air / no weight on the steer axle. A recipe for disaster. The skid steer looks to be loaded well. He just needs a no sway WDH & some axle to frame air bags set up on a scale and it will be a night & day safer more enjoyable tow.

I've had my 2014 ED to about 7,800 on the truck axles & 15,200 combined truck & trailer. With this kind of weight a good no sway WDH and axle to frame air bags or something is required with good weight distribution for safe transport. Some good load rated tires also helps. A trailer brake controller is very helpful especially over the grades and in my case my tunes turbo brake is real useful & comforting. Here is a 30'11" power everything Classic that's 8,000 pounds.

Heres my biggest haul. Had to move my cousin from kentucky to ohio. This was in my 2011 that I recently traded in for a 2016. Had the 4.7 in it, but pulled thru the hills no problem.

Hooked my 38' Wildwood bumper pull up to the '14 2wd and um,,, yeah,
it bottomed out about an inch from the caliche.
To that little trucks credit, I was able to move the 10,000 lb + trailer around the lot to get it parked right, so mission accomplished!!

We don't move the trailer often, we have it in a park and it's our "cabin at the coast" but I do need to be able to go down and get the trailer out of there if a Hurricane is coming.

That experience combined with (cleverly) putting all the luggage from the Holiday trip to Grandma's house in the open bed during a rain storm gave me all the ammo I needed to get Momma signed on to a 2500 4wd kind of a plan.

Well the springs must help a lot as it's not sagging much and it has to be a pretty fair amount of pin weight. I love my axle to frame bags but have thought about adding in those springs as I do a fair amount in the 1,000 to 1,200 tongue weight plus sometimes have stuff in the bed. With WDH the receiver is good to 1,290 so I've pushed the edge. I've also had over 4,000 on the back axle but I try to avoid it.

11 mpg is really good for that weight with the Hemi. You must keep speed down. I love the 8 speed 3.92. I have gotten 15.0 average with just over 8,000 pounds running 65 but with the EcoD. What 5er hitch do you use? I have a turnover ball & an Andersen 5er adapter but have not used it. My truck is with the Airstream a couple posts up.
