Well the springs must help a lot as it's not sagging much and it has to be a pretty fair amount of pin weight. I love my axle to frame bags but have thought about adding in those springs as I do a fair amount in the 1,000 to 1,200 tongue weight plus sometimes have stuff in the bed. With WDH the receiver is good to 1,290 so I've pushed the edge. I've also had over 4,000 on the back axle but I try to avoid it.

11 mpg is really good for that weight with the Hemi. You must keep speed down. I love the 8 speed 3.92. I have gotten 15.0 average with just over 8,000 pounds running 65 but with the EcoD. What 5er hitch do you use? I have a turnover ball & an Andersen 5er adapter but have not used it. My truck is with the Airstream a couple posts up.
curt q16 with slider yeah 60mph and that is one sweet trailer you have.

Thanks but it's not mine. I contract with Airstream and deliver new units from the factory to dealerships around the country. And whatever we can find for return trips. What is the pin weight on your trailer?

One trip I had a new boat plus a Harley in the bed. With tongue and loaded bed I had about 7800 on the truck axles. CVW of about 15,300. With WDH, bags, tune with turbo brake It climbed descended handled controlled speed down grades & braked well but you can see why I am interested in those springs to back up my bags. What's your experience with them? You only use the springs or springs plus bags?

1329 lbs pin and yes you can put air bags on as well the springs have the same foot print as stock just variable thickness thin on the top for ride and thicker at the bottom. only springs right now but I do have a set of boss airbags in the garage they don't change the ride when empty so I love them.

I tow with no sway WDH & axle to frame air bags set up for maximum weight redistribution on CAT scales. Tune, 3.92s, & load tires.

These are new dry units just me & tools. This is often more safe & stable than the guy with a 3/4 ton who uses no WDH & "flys blind."

Truck is somewhat frequently loaded to near max axles about 7,800 combined but not over & never to RAMs 4th gen max CVWR 15,950.

2017 Airstream's new 33' Classic. This one was 8,561 dry. And a 2017 Forrest River's Wildcat Maxx 33.1' with 3 slides & 9,086 dry. Neither had any sway or other issues. I took the FR 965 miles over passes up grades including the grape vine & through some moderate winds in the high desert. Truck is about to turn 300,000 miles.

I'm not recommending these size TTs for camping with even a scale set 1500 just showing the capability of the truck with WDH & bags set up at the scales.

I know it's too much but load was a little over 9,000lbs and trailer weights a little over 3,000lbs

32' Glasstream, combined weight with trailer about 10,000lbs, airbags inside the rear springs, 3.21 8 Speed. 4x4. Doesn't even know its there when pulling it out of the water. Pulls great around town, on the highway I set the transmission to 6 gear max and cruise at 60mph.

Thanks Pblanko, Sounds right the low first gear of the 8 speed would walk it right up the ramp. Tongue on this type boat & trailer is probably only 10 percent or a 1,000 pounds so stock springs plus in coil bags would be sufficient. It's not a big wind drag kept in one to one ie 6th gear with the 3.21 is probably purring right along at 60 at 2,000 ish and doing well on fuel as the motor isn't being loaded. So many people try to upshift as they are focused on rpm instead of load and work their motor & transmission unnecessary hard and gain no mileage for it. Guessing two 250s she rocks?

Devin any pic of a truck working looks better than a shiny garage queen.

Pull this setup about 3 days a week around the area, occasional 10 mile stretches of highway but mostly in a small community on the gulf coast of FL. Each cart weighs 1,800lbs give or take a few and the trailer is steel, no clue on weight but i'm guessing at least 2,000 lbs unloaded. Bone stock tires, suspension and hitch and it's pretty bouncy at times. I'm getting 275/65/20 Toyo R/Ts installed tomorrow and i've been looking at Airlift 1000 bags to help with the sag. Will be installing Bilsteins in the front in the coming weeks so I definitely need to do something for the rear beforehand.
