Okay I don't have a pic but I towed a 1990 Ramcharger 4x4 with 318 and a Meyer Snow plow. The trailer I used was a tandem with its own brakes that I controlled using the Factory Integrated Trailer Brake that I wired in on my '09.. It was fun and the Ram handled it very well with my 4.56 gears. Trailer brakes make it so easy on the truck it is great. I towed the load from Wadena, MN to Fargo, ND then to a city near Minot, ND about 7 hours and 400 miles of "testing."

Kinda like this ??? (not a 1500, but is almost just like what you described)

79 Ramcharger on 40's w/360 cid ~ 475 hp (6200 lbs)
10' snow plow/pumps/hookup brackets (800 lbs ??)
24' flatbed trailer (4400 lbs)

This was the day I bought the 3500 & trailer. Drove the RC up there, loaded it up and drove it all back.

You sure that Ramcharger or the trailer weigh this much? I am asking only because I have hauled 90 Ramcharger with 8.5 Meyer plow and it was on our 22 - 24ft tandem with full tank of fuel using my 09 ram and it weighs that much I was way over ratings and it did well.

Yes, the weights I gave are from the scale at the state weigh station. I had to get them all certified to correctly register the truck since the PO lied and had registered it @ 5500 lbs so he could get cheaper plates for it. When I got done, it was registered truck/trailer @ 24,500 lbs.

Only thing I don't know about is the weight of the plow. I've never had one, and it came with the truck/trailer. All I know is it was all I could do to move it around by myself and a jack, and it hung off the 102" wide trailer by about 6" on each side.

The most weight I think I hauled with that rig was when I took a trip to MI to buy a wrecked 96 12v CTD just like the one in the pic (but the one in the pic is a 97) cuz the guy only wanted 1500 for the whole truck, and it ran just fine. I later sold it for over 2x what I paid for it.

I'd guess that trip was just under 20k total weight, as my 97 w/ the aux fuel tank I had made was ~ 7800 lbs, the 96 was ~7000 lbs, and the trailer @ 4900 lbs (added 2 batts & winch plus toolbox full of tools).

Not sure on what was the heaviest, but I made several long distance trips with that truck/trailer and different 'cargo', that were all in the 19-20k range total.

And there is a good it of weight on that RC that you can't see from mods & roll cage, and them tires/rims weren't exactly light either. I was surprised at what it weighed with a full tank of fuel, the toolbox, whihc had all kind of tools/chains/jack/fluids in it, and all the mods.

BTW, that trailer was rated 14k.

Around here, it is free at the state scales as long as you don't do it all the time.

I went there with the trailer empty, and weighed the truck with it connected and disconnected, so I knew the axle weights to calculate the tongue weight.

As for the trailer weight, mine was a heavy equipment trailer and had some hefty i-beams for the frame.

I tow this set up all over from job site to job site. Lift weighs 10,500lbs and trailer weighs about 3,200lbs. Pulls it like a champion!

Hope you don't have an accident towing that with a 1500.

Smiley, what was the tongue weight on that trailer? Are you using the Airlift 1000 series? I want to get a set, but it looks like you have a lot of squat for what seems like not very much weight...

Smiley uses that 'Shocker' hitch which doesn't include weight distribution arms/bars which can help even out the rear of the truck and the tongue load

You'd be surprised at the weight.

My camper is only 25', and it has a tongue weight of ~ 725 lbs, so I'm sure his is more.

Them older campers like his & mine were made a lot stouter. Mine is a 76 vintage BTW, and weighs in ~ 6000 lbs.

Your ass doesn't sag at all. You got airbags?

Nope, no airbags yet. That camper was 4600 dry (26ft). My new one is 7000 dry (32ft).

I will try and get a newer shot today, as I am heading to the campground tonight
