2012 2500 CCSB 4x4 Hemi 3.73 with 66re
2012 Flagstaff FK26S (front kitchen, slide, approx 8k lbs)
Never tow over 65 mph. The trailer speed limit is determined by the trailer's tires. All ST rated trailer tires have a 65 mph max speed limit. Anything faster invites blowouts. Even at 65 mph I have had 1year old new tires blowout.
Loaded in the Texas hills I just leave the trans locked in 4th gear at 2,600 rpms at 65 mph and let the cruise control work. Will occasionally drop to 3rd at 3,500 rpms on steep hills. Towing mpgs are 8-9.
I have owned 1 Duramax, 1 5.9 cummins, and 1 6.7 cummins. My favorite was the 5.9 but the 4 speed auto trans was junk. The 6.7 had constant dpf issues. As a whole package I really like the Hemi with 66re 6 speed. The 6 speed really lets you the most out of the hemi. Plus, my current hemi gets the same mpgs as the same equipped 6.7 I owned. Even better for me now that diesel cost $0.50 more per gallon.
Just my opinion...
