The stock LT tires 275/60/R20 are not load rated for much towing, are there any D load range tires in 20" all I can seem to find is E load rated but for the price and short tread wear life they seem to be over kill. I have a 08 1500 with a 5.7 and 3.92 rear end just pulling a 5,000lb camper 300 miles round trip 3 times a year, the rest of the miles on my truck will be highway for work. Any Ideas or recommendations for tire choice?

Actually the stock tires are rated for the trucks tow capacity. They can't tell you the truck can tow "X" amount and then put tires on that can't handle "X". That said, I run "D" but in 17.

If you look at the rated load capacity on the sidewall and multiply by two, you'll see it exceeds your axle capacity.

Maybe since you only do the trip a few times a year what about getting some 17" wheels and tires. Just an idea.
