Has anyone done a 2500 leaf swap in a 1500?? My cousins 99 had it done and I love it... Just curious how hard it would be on my 08

Better to get an HD set-up which is a 4/1 vice 3/1 (same count as a 2500 but 2" as required) Thats what I did. Part number is HD3145. I paid 800 for a brand new set and then got the longer shackles from a lift vendor. Combined with the Hellwig sway and load leveling shocks it sits nice and is a tad higher than a stock 2500 with my 1" body lift added.

does not necessarily pertain to the leafs, but I swapped '08 2500 diesel coils into my '08 1500 Mega Cab. The 1500 Mega Cabs are different than other 1500's, being eight lug straight axles. I do recall measuring the leafs from the same 2500 and they seemed as though they would fit. I ended up just buying the guys 2" blocks and air bag setup for the rear of my truck. I didn't want to make the rear more harsh of a ride. Perhaps airbags would be an option for you? Gives you some adjust-ability in ride height and stiffness as needed when towing/hauling, but retains the factory ride quality while driving empty. Just a thought. Does not seem like a R&R type of swap, from what I've heard.

I would go with air bags also. Towing capacity when needed and ride quality when wanted.
